Guest guest
Namaste Rohan, If the corns are not severely broken the bead can still be worn. But if the breakage is very severe, replace the bead with a new one. Either keep the old one in box on the altar or bury it in the garden after saying 'thanks' and honoring Lord Shiva by lighting ghee lamp and incense and reciting Om Namah Shivaya. Small sized mala beads such as 6mm and 7mm do not show complete 5 faces because the lines are very tiny. Sometimes, very minute lines cannot be seen. If the sellers say they are 5 mukhi japa malas, they are right. This is because if the some of the beads are truly 4 mukhi or 6 mukhi, they would have been graded with other 4 and 6 mukhi beads for stringing as these fetch higher price in japa malas. Anyway, even if your 2 new japa malas truly consist of some 4 or 6 mukhis in between 5 mukhis, you are very lucky! Four mukhi represents Brahma and 6 mukhi represents Kartikeya. This means the japa malas give blessings of 3 Gods, i.e. Shiva, Brahma and Kartikeya. This is good luck and auspicious. Just use the japa malas and know that you're blessed with them as they are and reap the benefits that will come eventually.
