Your mystic friend and other well-meaning people are only too right in telling you to seek protection as in 'shielding' yourself from psychic attacks from that person. Its great you realize she holds you back from spiritual progress, leeches onto your energy, steals sacred items from you and has all the signs of a psychic vampire. Removing her from you life will take a little time while she learns to accept her presence is no longer welcome. This one is a nasty piece of work since your attempts at distancing were met with punitive measures not only for you but also for your family members. The 'deep hurt and need' are just guilt trips - ploys not to let you go. She will continue to have you wrapped around her little finger if you stay passive and not take action in cutting ties. Its easy to say this and hard to carry out, but sooner or later you will successfully be rid of her for good if you work at it with serious focus. The mere thought of a person actually brings their psyche right into our immediate environment even if the person is a long way from us. Its the same with talking about the person. A good step to begin ridding a toxic person from our life is not to think or talk about the person unless its necessary. The less we think/talk about them, the lesser the chance of their psychic cords picking it up enough to evoke their essence.
