White residue on Lotus seed mala & black Insects !!

Namaste Narasimhaye,

 

A small concern: Today as it was Dhanteras, I was cleaning my altar and found to my dismay that the small plate where I had kept the small crystal shree yantra and the 7 mukhi rudraksha , chirmi beads & the wealth box had a white residue around it. I had a 27 bead lotus bead mala from last year which had this problem and I used to clean it regularly. I had kept the lotus mala all around the plate & the wealth box.

I also found small black insect/s on the plate. Earlier a month back I had noticed just one insect and had cleaned up properly thinking that it will not come again. When I opened the wealth box, I found two insects on the single 7Mukhi rudraksha also.

 

Iam a bit confused on how to deal with this as I don't want to use any harsh chemicals to clean up my altar.

 

Has any other member experienced this before?? If so then kindly advice a remedy as I don't want the 7 Mukhi Rudraksha in the plates and the wealth box to get affected by this.
