Namaste Sreev_p,

Please do not worry about what you think may have been 'silly

questions'. No questions are considered silly in this Group. We all

learn from one another about everything anyone wants to ask or share.

1) Most people perform a simple puja once a month, every fortnight

or once a week, depending on how busy their schedules are. A simple

puja when offered with bhakti and faith is more important than long

and elaborate pujas without devotion. A state of mind and heart are

also important in that we 'want to' do the puja, not if we 'have to'.

Offerings for a simple puja to Lord Shiva can be milk, honey,

flowers, fruit, curd, unsalted nuts, sweets, camphor, incense and

ghee lamp. Recite 108 times Om Namah Shivaya or the 108 Names of

Lord Shiva.

In the next 2 messages, I shall post one short puja for deity worship

and a long puja for Lord Shiva for your reference. You can use the

puja method mentioned above or follow either of the pujas to be

posted soon.

2) If you do regular prayers, its not necessary for monthly puja

unless you want to do it.

3) For women its not necessary to perform puja after the 7 days

before wearing rudraksha again. Its essential to take a bath and then

recite Om Namah Shivaya 9 times before putting the beads on.

If you have more questions, write any time.

Om Bholenath
