Namaste Crystal,

This Group is also very blessed to have you and all other members who make it a wonderful cyber spiritual sanctuary.

Its great to hear that your husband and yourself have Special Siddh Mala each. The rudraksha beads on this mala which is ruled by different planetary lords, are able to pacify and balance negative planetary influences. Gems have side effects. Rudrakshas do not have side effects at all.

Its not true that one should wear rudrakshas according to horoscope details or planetary influences only (its called Personal Mala). Everyone can wear a Personal Mala or a Siddh Mala. Personl Malas may not consist higher mukhi beads. Siddh Mala consist of 14 mukhi rudraksha which is a higher mukhi bead. Many people have different malas for wearing on different occasions.

Its not true that wearing rudrakshas is similar to gem therapy. Please read the article written by a highly respected astrologer and scholar in the next message. Its titled "Gems May Cause Negative Effects But Rudraksha Is The Best Mani" by Sri K. S. Venkataraman.

You are correct that Rudrakshas, being the Tears of Lord Shiva which are shed in compassion and for helping mankind, cannot cause any harm. The beads are divine blessings from Lord Shiva. There is nothing in holy scriptures that mention about rudrakshas having side effects. Your husband and yourself do not have to verify your malas according to your horoscopes.

Its great to hear that your husband and yourself have very positive experiences since wearing rudrakshas. I'm very glad that stress and anxiety are reduced, and that the atmosphere is calmer and more peaceful.

Its quite common to have vivid dreams and head rush when wearing rudrakshas for the first ime. These will disappear as time goes -- the beads take time to acclimatize with the wearer and vice versa. The silvery tiny sparkles (and sometimes balls) flashes are also common. Please don't worry. about them. Some people may also experienced a kind of high-pitched buzzing sound in the ears.

Rudraksha needs to be cleansed when there is a build-up of dirt or grit on the beads. The beads can be washed with the tiniest amount of gentle soapy water and lemon juice. Brush the beads one at a time using a soft toothbrush.

Afterwards, rinse them with distilled or spring water added to some rosewater. Leave them to dry completely. When they are totally dry, mix some almond cold-pressed oil with a few drops of Sandalwood Essential Oil in a bowl. Soak the beads in the oil for 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Wipe away as much oil as possible with kitchen towel paper. Place the malas/beads on the altar. Offer puja to Lord Shiva before wearing the cleansed rudraksha beads.

(Note: When the beads are entirely dry, instead of soaking them in oil, its fine to brush them with oil using another soft toothbrush. Cold-pressed almond oil can be substituted with any other cold-pressed oil. Sandalwood essential oil is suggested as its conducive to meditation, calm and peace.)

Don't worry about writing a long message. Write as many long posts as you wish and we shall try our best to assist you with answers.

Om Bholenath
