Guest guest
Namaste All, Strange question, this, but how else may I learn? At a local park attached to some lakes, many acres of pristine and ancient, noble trees, animals..etc....I took a friend of mine after I had given her a very valuable gift. I sent up the thought that I would like some sort of affirmation this was acceptable, as I felt from Upaguru that I was giving not to the persona, but the divinity encased within. She has done what people would consider horrible actions towards me, but I feel they were done from ignorance, not planned malice. So odd as it is to bestow a nice gift to another who has done me (what seems to be) harm, I felt it was OK to bless with love. I see that she cannot truly harm me,only injure herself and offend God/dess when she behaves thus, so to show gratitude for this understanding and deep insight, I returned love and a gift. When we arrived at the lake, she found a coconut and some fruit she found on the shore (this side of the lake is where the current brings things). I immediately said to her, " This looks like offering for a puja " ...and I had discussed many times what a lovely place for puja this location would be, but we had yet to do this. So I went to investigate, and found in the water also coins, cloths of assorted colors, wrappers from candy, an empty bottle of perfume, thread, and a sticker of Shiva! I knew the fruit could be consumed as Prasad, and the coins we threw back into the deep waters; also, we collected the other items so that the workers would not throw in garbage nor be desecrated by children who might visit lake later, not realizing these were offered in puja. (not many Hindu here) But I do not know what is the correct thing to do with the other items. I placed thread and sticker, pieces of cloth in trunk of my car. She kept the empty bottle of perfume, some thread and some pieces of cloth. It was a Monday morning when we went & found this. I mentioned this to Indian woman I know, who did not have the time to explain what to do with the other items (thread, sticker, cloths, etc). But she told me Shiva had blest me....though I confess I am not sure how to interpret this event. Now the items were submerged in the water amid algae and although I expected these items to reek of lake, my whole car became perfumed with the scent of the perfume that was in the empty bottle, albeit I had only some thread and small pieces of cloth and the sticker. The pieces she kept of the cloth do not smell so nice, in fact they stink. As I know there are NO coincidences, only a larger pattern to each event we cannot always see, I feel certain there must be something I need to understand from the significance of this. My friend did tell me maybe someone sent puja items to float in lake and they arrived on this shore before sinking....??? I get that my feeling this was a great place for puja of all kind was correct, but what other significance may I attach to this event? I cannot dismiss anything as accidental or meaningless. I do not know what is proper to do with these items; is it permissible to place on my altar? How do I extend gratitude for this , and what is Shiva telling me with this most unusual event? Please offer me as much information as you are able, so I may learn. Also.....after the morning, near sunset that evening, a doe came out of the woods and came to my hand to eat oats! They are basically wild, not tamed, and the whole day was magical too. Eagles and hawks were near, and we had the whole park to ourselves except for the employees. It rained all around the lake, but not on us! I added some coins of my own, and many prayers and gratitude when we tossed the money into the deep waters of the lake. What next, what now? What have I not seen or understood in this? Thank you for listening and answering. Om Namah Shivaya! Gina
