Namaste Respected Hari,

Warmest welcome to this Group! Its a group that belongs to all the members and its them and yourself that make this a wonderful place to be.

Whenever you have questions, feel free to ask any time. If I don't know the answer, someone else is bound to know. We help one another whenever we can. When you get time, please go through our Files section where there is lots of information about various matters.

For the worship of Guru (Lord Jupiter), obtain a Guru Yantra and offer daily prayers. It brings blessings in prosperity, power, rank, abundance, authority, successful business undertakings and helps strengthen a weak Jupiter in the horoscope.

This is the link to the Siddh Guru Yantra:

The mantra is: Om Brim Brihaspataye Namaha.

Use a 5 mukhi Japa Mala of 108 + 1 beads for counting the mantra. 5 Mukhi rudraksha is ruled by Jupiter.

Begin on Thursday as its governed by Guru. Its best to recite the mantra 108 times each day at the same hour in front of the Guru Yantra after a bath. Do this mantra sadhana for 90 days and see how you go. The mantra can be chanted in the morning or evening but not on a full stomach as this can cause sleepiness. Focusing on the mantra, having faith, devotion and not rushing through the syllables are important.

Keep us informed of your progress so we would know how best to advise you further. Offerings on the altar can be fruit, yellow flowers, honey, milk, sweets, curd, unsalted nuts, ghee lamp (or t-light candles or Yellow candles) and incense.

Regarding the Gayatri Mantra:

The Vedas are widely considered to be the source of all true knowledge, the word "Veda" itself meaning "Knowledge". Gayatri Devi also gave to mankind the "Gayatri Mantra", also known as the "Guru Mantra" or the "Savitri Mantra". It is one of the oldest mantras, and generally thought of as being amongst the highest and most powerful mantras of all. This mantra is therefore often referred to as "the Mother of the Vedas". It appears in Yajur Veda - Chapter 36, Mantra (Verse) 3.

Although Gayatri Mantra is sometimes called "Guru Mantra", it has no relation to Jupiter in this case. Jupiter's 'Guru Mantra' is a Planetary Mantra.

Rishis selected the words of the Gayatri Mantra and arranged them so that they not only convey meaning but also create specific power of righteous wisdom through their utterance. The ideal times for chanting the mantra are three times a day - at dawn, mid-day, and at dusk. These times are known as the three sandhyas - morning, mid-day and evening. The maximum benefit of chanting the mantra is said to be obtained by chanting it 108 times. However, one may chant it for 3, 9, or 18 times when pressed for time. The syllables of the mantra are said to positively affect all the chakras or energy centres in the human body.

Chanting of Gayatri Mantra removes all obstacles in our path to increased wisdom and spiritual growth and development. The teachings and powers incorporated in the Gayatri Mantra fulfill this purpose. Righteous wisdom starts emerging soon after Japa (recitation) of the Gayatri Mantra is performed.

Hope this helps.

Om Bholenath
