Namaste Anil,

1) Generally Kapha Dosha governs the structure of the body from giving it mass and stability to protecting it from the outside environment.

2) 5 Subdoshas of Kapha:

Kledaka Kapha functions in the gastric area. Lubricating ingested food to make it easier to digest is its principal function.

Bodhaka Kapha is located in the tongue and throat and governs taste. Lubricating food and making it easier to swallow are Bodhaka Kapha activities.

Avalambaka Kapha resides in the heart, chest and lower back. Lubricating the heart and lung tissue to slow down wear and tear is an Avalambaka Kapha activity.

Tarpaka Kapha is located in the head, sinuses and spinal fluid. It provides lubrication to nerve and brain tissue.

Shleshaka Kapha is located in the joints and provides lubrication to keep the joints smooth and flexible.

3) Diet, change of lifestyle and regular exercise are some of the remedies for Kapha Dosha. An Ayurvedic physician should be consulted regarding this. A Special Siddh Mala with 1 to 14 mukhis is most suitable for persons with Kapha Dosha. The mala usually comes in Nepal beads. But Java beads can also be used - I'm sure Rudra Centre will custom-make a combination with Java beads. Please send them an enquiry at this link:

4) Water Beads can still be used now. Its not a problem that they've not been used since you received them some months ago. This is provided that they are still in the plastic packet and no insects have gotten into them. Wash the beads before using.

Om Bholenath
