My father was an amateur astrologer and would spend a lot of his spare time

reading books on astrology and discussing with friends who were interested

in astrology. I picked up something from him.

 

Saturn and Venus are close friends. In fact, they are either enemies or

in a neutral position with other planets. I am not considering here

their relationship with Rahu and Ketu, since these are shadowy planets

and give the results of the planets in whose houses they reside. One

thing I must mention here is that Rahu, depending on his beneficial placement

in an horoscope, can make a person a King overnight, particuarly during

his Mahadasa. Wealth and riches, including winnings from lotteries, are yours for the asking. Ketu gives detachment and paves the way for salvation or Moksha.

 

Your astrologer is right in that when you have a Venus Ascendant, Saturn

is an Yogakaraka. You are lucky. Even during Saturn Mahadasa or Daiyya,

you will not be troubled much by Saturn. Saturn is residing in his friend's

house in Taurus. Besides, if Saturn is in the 8th House in Taurus that means

that Venus is residing in his own house in Libra. How lucky can a person get?

Since Libra is your Ascendant, that means your Moon is also in Libra. A combination

of Venus and Moon is considered highly beneficial for name and fame. You could also safely wear a Diamond or White Sapphire or Zircon. But please consult your

astrologer before wearing one. Have you won any Awards or Prizes???

 

Regarding the Blue Sapphire, I hope you have purchased the stone from

a reputed jeweller's shop. Please note that any defects in the BS could

lead to adverse effects. You can still have the BS checked for black spots,

cracks or other defects. In Calcutta you can have gems checked for

authenticity by the Geological Survey of India. This ensures that you have

not been palmed off with some cheap synthetic stone resembling BS.

Please let me know if the colour of the BS is cornfield blue. Genuine

dark/royal blue BS with great lustre are very expensive and cost the earth.

Unfortunately, some astrologers palm off some cheap stones lying with

them.

 

Now a small note for everyone who are blindly suggested to wear yellow

sapphire, golden topaz or citrine by astrologers to get rid of penury. Please

do not wear any of these unless Jupiter is a benefic in your horoscope.

If, for example, you have Jupiter in a Kendra or Angle [i.e. the 1st, 4th, 7th

or 10th house], it becomes a malefic. This follows from the rule that benefics

in Kendras (Angles) give bad results and malefics in Kendras give good results. If you

have Jupiter in a Kendra and, for added trouble, is in an unfriendly house, just

wait for your Jupiter Mahadasa for an extraordinarily bad period. You will

lose everything you have and be driven to suicide. Of course, Jupiter, being

a benefic, will prevent you from committing suicide. Can't have his fair

name besmirched, can he!!! The funniest thing is that most astrologers will warn

you of the bad effects of a badly placed Saturn, Mars or even the shadowy planets

Rahu and Ketu, but will probably not say a word about Jupiter. Always remember

that Jupiter can cause excruciating pain and suffering considerably more

than any other planet including the so-called malefics.
