Cleaning Rudraksha with Hot Water

Dear Friends,

To Clean my Rudraksha Mala, I dipped it in Hot

water(70C-80C)with little mild detergent(Ariel Fresh)for less than 1

minute and then cleaned it with clean cold distilled water...But my

Rudraksha beads color changed from shiny brown to blakish brown. I

also fell that Rudraksha beads have shrunken in size...Can anybody

comment on this color change and size change?

 

Will Rudraksha loose its properties and effect if i clean it

in this way?. Can i dip it in olive oil or Sandlewood oil after

cleaning it?. I would be thankful if somebody could advice me on this.
