Guest guest
Namaste Raja, The mind normally tells the body what it needs. Many vegetarians may lack vitamin B and minerals that can be found in meat, fish, eggs and poultry products. When the body lacks any of the above, its sometimes natural for a person to crave meat all of a sudden. However, you can resist that by trying to eat more mushrooms and tofu dishes. You will see the difference it makes. Perhaps consult a nutritionist if you can. There's this very religious vegan who refused all meat and poultry products. He hardly ever ate anything other than vegetables and fruits. While these foods are good for him, he didn't bother to eat nuts, mushrooms, soybeans and tofu. As the years go past, one day he woke up feeling terribly feeble, hardly able to speak and couldn't stand up. He looked very pale and sickly. An ambulance took him to the hospital where he was hooked to several drips containing vitamins, calcium, minerals liquids, etc. It was then he was counselled by psychologists (he was often depressed) and a good nutritionist who worked out a personal Food Chart to tailor to his needs. After leaving hospital, he turned vegetarian but would have the odd intake of eggs, chicken, milk, cheese, etc. Food intake or cravings have nothing to do with rudraksha. Do not think that everything that happens is because of rudraksha. No doubt rudraksha has worked for some people who refrained from non-veg after wearing them (there are some old but relevant testimonials in Rudra Centre's web site). For others who all of a sudden crave meat, there is nothing wrong with that. Even saints when they are performing strict sadhanas and prayers get cravings and visions about the wrong things. They know that success can only be achieved if they have the Will to resist these temptations. But not everyone can be a saint. If the cravings get too much and you know what you are doing, by all means try meat if you are not from a strict Hindu background.
