Guest guest
Wearing a rudraksha and praying brings manifold benefits, as we have read and experienced too. But wearing these during the time of an eclipse, and engaging in Sadhana at this time increases the benefits to many, many, and many beyond the already manifold! It is very liberating and useful for Spiritual upliftment, overcoming the inner enemies of various negative tendencies that are obstructing our progress, this is God-given opportunity for us to appease Him more. Now, we have an eclipse coming up this Saturday, August 16th, 2008: a Lunar eclipse— for those interested, please read on. For those living in the East this will be around midnight (please check according to your local time zones), for those living in the West, this will be in the late afternoon/ evening. It is not that the effect of sadhana during eclipse is possible only when it is visible to us. What is an eclipse, scientifically? According to the astronomers when the earth and moon are positioned in the same line with the sun i.e. when the moon is between the earth and the sun, the rays of the sun are not able to reach the earth and due to this a part of the sun becomes invisible. This is known as the solar eclipse. Science states that all the planets of our solar system are illuminated by the light of the sun. The earth and the moon too get their light from the sun. On a full moon night we can see the whole moon. But when the moon revolving around the earth is positioned in a manner that the earth comes in between the sun and the moon, the rays of the sun are not able to reach the moon and a part or the whole of moon is eclipsed. This is known as lunar eclipse. The ancient Indian savants and scientists also tried their best to find out what effect this phenomenon has on human life. They concluded that all heavenly bodies have a definite influence on all living beings including human beings. This is why whenever there is an eclipse the nature, the earth, the creatures are definitely affected. Sadhana during an eclipse: Every person should try to make the best use of these moments by engaging himself in Mantra chanting, Sadhana and worship because there can be no better time than this for riddance from problems of life. The reason for this is that any Sadhana done in this period is a hundred times more effective than one done ordinarily. Chanting a Mantra just once during a lunar eclipse proves as powerful as chanting the same Mantra a hundred times in ordinary conditions. Some sources say … " A small ritual accomplished during this period is certainly more powerful than a Mantra Anushtthaan (complete Sadhana) in which a Mantra is chanted 1.25 lakh times. The same effect that is had through a long Sadhana can be had by chanting just 5 or 11 rounds of a Mantra during the period of eclipse. " Great Yogis, Rishis and ascetics wait for such moments so that they could make full use of them for riddance from all problems of life and for gaining success spiritually as well as materially. These are in fact moments for moulding one's personality. Now, one can only imagine how wearing Rusraksha during these moments multiplies the effects: Below is a citation of Rudraksha wearing from Chapter 11 of the Srimad Devi Bhagavatam. " The effect of holding Rudrâksams is well known in the three worlds. Punyam (great merit) arises from the mere sight of Rudrâksams; ten million times that merit arises by its touch; and by wearing it, one hundred Koti times the fruit arises and if one makes Japam every day, then one lakh koti times the punyam arises. There is no manner of questionings in this. He who holds in his hand, breast, neck, ears, head, the Rudrâksams, becomes an image of Rudra. There is no manner of doubt in this. By holding Rudrâksams, men become invulnerable of all the beings, become respected, like Mahâ Deva, by the Devas and Asuras and they roam on the earth like Rudra. Even if a man be addicted to evil deeds and commits all sorts of sins, he becomes respected by all, on holding Rudrâksams. By this men are freed of the sin of taking Uchhista and of all the other sins. Even if you suspend a Rudrâksam rosary on the neck of a dog and if that dog dies in that state, he gets liberation! Then what to speak of others! By holding Rudrâksams, men even if they be devoid of Japam and Dhyânam, become freed of all sins and attain the highest state. Even if one holds merely one Rudrâksa seed purified and surcharged with Mantra S'akti, he uplifts his twentyone generations, gets to Heaven and resides there with respect.
