Namaste Seah,

There is nothing mentioned in Puranas and other sacred texts

regarding rudraksha that its Beej mantras cannot be chanted by

wearers. English transliterations for Beeja mantra are clear and

ocnsice so the sounds are pronounced correctly in most cases. For

those not from Hindu backgrounds, they either already have gurus,

listen to mantra tapes, learn from mantra yoga classes, etc.

It depends on the person's background, whether its strict or liberal.

The conservative would say that mantras should be learnt from gurus

and follow gurus like God. The liberal learns from other avenues if

they don't have a guru. Either way, its bhakti and commitment that

counts. The summit is the same, only the path to get there is

different.

Beeja mantras are not as difficult as Lakshmi Ashtakam to pronounce.

If Lakshmi can look the other way when prayers to Her are

mispronouned, so will presiding Gods of Beeja mantras. Gods do not

curse people. Only demons do.

Om Namah Shivaya
