Guest guest
Namaste Seah, You've written a good point. Its true that Rudraksha Jabala Upanishad stated what you said and in the other scriptures, there is no mention of the prohibition of rudraksha during sleep and spousal relations. Its just that many people prefer not to wear during sleep in case they roll around and spoil the beads or the stringing. As for spousal relations, many consider rudraksha to be sacred hence they leave the beads on the altar prior to bedtime with the spouse. Smarta Hindus (Liberal Hindus) and Tantrikas wear their rudrakshas any time and anywhere without adhering to any traditions or restrictions. Persons from strict Hindu backgrounds would decide not to wear beads into lavatories, eating non-veg food, drinking alcohol, during sleep or spousal relations. Whether wear or not to wear is a matter of personal beliefs, upbringing, background and preference.
