Guest guest
Dear Blue, The best way to judge is to obtain genuine beads from a reputable site like Rudra Centre, i.e. Rudraksha-ratna.com which provides the highest quality beads so you know you are safe every time you buy rudraksha from them. Those places where you saw high mukhi beads worth $500 being touted for $30 are definitely selling fakes. The reason why they have 100% feedback ratings is because the buyers were eager to snap up what they thought was a bargain and upon receiving their bead, were happy to give the feedback. Later when many contacted us for authentification, they were disappointed at having bought a piece of junk. Boiling or putting rudrakshas in chemicals are good ways to tell whether the bead is genuine or not. In hot boiling water, the beads will not disintegrate if they are real. In chemicals, the real bead also does not come apart. Fake ones will come apart, making the glue visible. Genuine rudraksha are hardy and not easy to be damaged after testing methods.
