Guest guest
Interesting article ----By One of the famous Astrologers in South India____ This is based on my response to a person who had asked me whether Ketu in the 12th house is an indicator of moksha. He also opined that his recent leanings were more towards spirituality making him a little unfocussed at work. He wanted to know whether ketu in 12h promotes Spirituality and blocks materialistic/ mundane urges in the process....I am furnishing my response to him for the benefit of all members of our group so that misinformation regarding " spiritual path " is cleared (we find too many misinformations on the net regarding this which creates conflict in the minds of many spiritual aspirants who are torn between their mundane duties and spiritual aspirations). IMPORTANT NOTE: 1)I have suppressed the personal information of the person to protect his privacy. 2) I have mentioned that Shri. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa had the negative quality of " aversion " to money which in my opinion is not correct for a " real Jeevan Muktha. " This was meant to put things in right perspective to spiritual aspirants who may compare their attitudes with the Great Mahatma and feel guilty that they are getting " money " or doing household duties for which money is essential. My post is only to explain that there is no need to have " aversion " to money and that is not a great seal of Merit for a liberated soul. Otherwise, I mean no disrespect to the Great Liberated Soul(Shri. Paramahamsa Ramakrishna) in any way. I respect Him with all my Heart and definitely there can be no doubt in the fact that He was a God=Realized Soul. I request our members to take my digression on that in the right spirit. MY RESPONSE: Ketu in the 12th house definitely gives a potential for learning " HIGHER TRUTHS " and acquiring Wisdom (as opposed to knowledge), and ultimately possibility of Moksham. But this does not preclude material/ mundane success in any way. If you read the lives of Great Saints, you will find that most of them were Geniuses in their respective fields. Take the example of Shri Aadi Shankara - He was knowledgeable in all fields not merely spirituality! The same goes with Shri. Raaghavendra, Swami Desikan, Ramanujacharya, Shri Madhwacharya, Swami Vivekananda, Gorakshanath (known as Goraknath in the North and Nepal), or for that matter even Lord Buddha! Only a highly competent person with extraordinary skills and ability can really transcend the mundane realities and reach moksha. Moksha comes not by " ignoring " mundane tasks and duties, but by performing them " perfectly " as they come without getting " attached to the results " . For instance, in your case, I would say you are a fit candidate for Moksha if you are able to focus on reading on spirituality and on sadhanas when projects are lean without getting disturbed by lack of opportunity. You should think that God has given you a leisure time to pursue your other higher interests as a break. You should not be anxious whether the career is progressing in the right path. If workload goes very high, you should feel that God has given you the opportunity to show your mettle and even this work is a prayer and in the course of your work just remember Divine Grace in some form whenever time permits(either on the Form of your favourite deity or chant names during recesses or even while walking or taking an elevator or eating!) When success comes, you should offer this as a humble homage to the Creator. When things do not go as you would prefer them to be, you should take it as a " toughening up course " for the soul without getting anxious and troubled. This should be the way of a person who can ultimately attain moksha or final liberation. Keep on with your duties....When the Final Call comes, you will know it yourself. You will be able to discard all these without the least tinge of guilt or remorse, and go to the Higher Reaches of your passage of life. That is moksha. Lot of misinformation has been spread about " spiritual way of life " . Spiritual way of life does not negate materialism. It only says that material desires should be satisfied in the " right " way. Spiritual way of life does not ask you not to enjoy - it only says not to get too much attached to the enjoyments! Accept life as it comes.....react as you need to based on the circumstances (like if you need to shout at a person to get the work done and if it is absolutely essential, your leanings on spirituality need not stop you from that! Only thing is, do not harbour ill-feelings against the person....your shouting should be task-oriented to get the duty done and not based on revenge or ill=feelings.....that is all to it! You need not be a passive yogi type who will patiently bear anything...that path is only for ascetics and sanyaasis). This is the path of karma yoga also called " Karma Sanyaasaa. " Such a person is a jeevan muktha (one liberated even as he is alive). Such persons lead lives that seem almost normal (King Janaka was enjoying himself all the luxuries as a King; but still he was a Jeevan muktha because he would have been equally happy living in a forest if the need arose. He did not have aversion to wealth - even aversion to wealth is a " negative bond " . Unfortunately even the Great Ramakrishna Paramahamsa had that tendency! He hated money and was averse to it. In reality - a real jeevanmuktha should be as free from " aversions " as he is from " attachments. " He should follow discrimination if the need arises based on his duties and NOT ON HIS PERSONAL PREFERENCES. Your horoscope definitely has the potential in it. Worshipping Lord Shiva is definitely a good process for attaining moksha because He is the natural significator for that! Raama mantra gives you the power to transcend the world life and attain salvation = Shiva mantra gives you the power to cut the bonds and destroy the complexes that are binding you to the cycle of existence.
