Sairam, 5th & 6th ways of Bhakti : Archana and Namaskara

Archana – worship :

Doing archana is praising God with Love and Bhakti. Calling Him whole heartedly. All the 1000 vishnusahasranaama’s are praising Sri Maha

Vishnu. While doing archana we have to visualize Sai Baba in front of us and have to do the pooja . If we are doing naamarchana we should understand the

meaning of each naama then only we can do the worship with love and can enjoy

it.

Worship varies

from person to person and region to region but it has to be with Love and

Bhakti.

Namaskara: Bowing:

Namaskara is Bowing to God with Respect and Bhakti. We do

namaskara every morning thanking him for giving us another beautiful day and

taking care of us. We do namaskara at the end of the day by thanking him for

the smooth ride. It doesn’t have to be only with folding hands, we can also do

namaskara ( Bowing) with closed eyes thinking about Him. For me it feels closer

to Baba while closing my eyes and sensing Him everywhere.

We do namaskara to everyone, especially elders meaning we

are bowing to God in that person. If we understand that God is in every person,

every where that is knowledge. Ultimately Knowledge and Bhakti are one and

same.May Baba Bless Us with Spiritual Growth Anu

******************************************************* Sairam, Happy Navrathri to you all. Baba spoke of Nav-vidha bhakthi, 9 ways of showing devotion to gods. I invite you to share your ideas on each type Baba mentions each day this would in a way reinforce His teachings and also help us analyse our actions and prayers towards BABA. The Nav Vidha Bhakthi mentioned are (1) Shravana (Hearing); (2) Kirtana (Praying); (3) Smarana (Remembering); (4) Padasevana (resorting to the feet); (5) Archana (Worship); (6) Namaskara (Bowing); (7) Dasya (Service); (8) Sakhyatva (Friendship); (9) Atmanivedana (surrender of the self). I will commence this by writing my thoughts on the first type of Bhakti - Shravana in my next email. Baba bless us and listen to all our prayers.
