Guest guest
Dear Devotees It was Sri Swamiji's wish to put the following Yama-Shloka into the JAIGURUDATTA group-list. He was chanting it two times during the Deepavali-day on 28th of September. It is good to recite it frequently during the Karthika-month, showing a light to the picture of Sri Swamiji, our beloved Sadguru, who is in the form of LORD SHIVA. He will protect His sincere Devotees in these turbulent times. YAMAAYA DHARMA RAAJAAYA MRUTYAVE CHAANTAKAAYA CHA VAIVASWATAAYA KAALAAYA SARVABHOOTA KSHAYAAYA CHA AUDUMBARAAYA DADHNAAYA NEELAAYA PARAMESHTINE VRUKOODARAAYA CHITRAAYA CHITRA GUPTAAYA TE NAMAHA. This Shloka tells us about the greatness of YAAMA-RAAJA, the black complexed Lord of DHARMA, DEATH and REBIRTH. He is the final judge for death. He regulates our Dharma/Karmas. He gives punishment to all beings in the form of death. He has an excellent assistant called CHITRAGUPTA who is keeping an account of our good and bad deeds. YAMA is a time-factor and he knows how and when to capture the Jeevis. On the other side he is a giver of much Wisdom in view of elevating souls to higher and higher levels. He is known as the son of Prajapati Vaivaswata, an aspect of creator BRAHMA. Yama likes the AUDUMBARA TREE since His SUPREME RULER, LORD DATTATREYA, resides in this auspicious tree!
