Shirdi to get airport for devotees

2008. MUMBAI: Devotees of Saibaba can now reach Shirdi by flight too,

as the Maharashtra Government today pproved construction of an airport

at the holy place. The

estimated cost of constructing the airport, at Kakadi village, 15 kms

away from Shirdi in Ahmednagar district, is Rs 264 crore, an official

said. The

project to be executed by the Maharashta Airport Development Company

will be completed with public-private partnership, he added. The Ahmednagar Collector will soon start the land acquisition of about 400 hectares of land required for the airport. Another news is

The blood bank run by the Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi, has

been honoured by the Maharashtra State Government by awarding

certificate and memento for its continuous efforts to collect and give

the blood to the needy patients at the reasonable prices. This award was accepted by Sunil Karjule from Maharashtra Health Minister Dr. Vimaltai Mundada. This blood bank

is motivating the blood doors in the rural area. The devotees also

donate the blood on every Thursday and Sunday. In all 7300 persons donated blood in 2007. This blood is supplied to Ahmadnagar, Nasik and Aurangabd Districts. --
