Namaste Anil,

 

Guru in this case means Shri Dakshinamurthi, The Cosmic Tutor.

 

1) Yes its okay.

 

2) If the silver capping hasn't come off too much, its fine to leave

it as it is. But when you see it coming off more, perhaps its time

for restringing the mala. For this, you can send the mala to Rudra

Centre where it can be restrung and blessed before sending back to

you.
