How to hold rudraksha rosary while mantra chanting

Namaste Anil, there are several reasons why they carry a cane with a

curved top. I think one is for hitting people or animals which get in

their way :) The other is for helping them to walk steadily

especially when ambling along uneven ground, walking through the

jungle, climbing hills or going up mountains. The stick is also for

balance, one hand holding it and the other holding a mala while

reciting mantra. Yes they use it for resting their arms/hands. Some

of them would have special canes that contain a compartment under the

curved head for storing herbs or holy items.

 

Pretty sure there would be wonderful antique specimens of these,

encrusted with gems or semi-precious stones but they will be very

hard to find. Otherwise a custom-made one would be ok too.
