Vasudevanada saraswati Tambe Swamiji. His Holiness lived in Maharashtra and is said to be an incarnation of Lord Datta Himself. He was the one to translate " Sri Guru Charitra " from Marathi language to Sanskrit as " Guru Samhita " . He made several slokas on Lord Datta. Our Swamiji has built 16 temples for the 16 avatars of Lord Datta including Kalagni Shamana Datta in Mysore. Before our Pujya Appaji, it was Sri. Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta I could very well be mistaken. There is some remembrance of reading in one of ashrama's books a story about how Sri Kuppa Krishna Murthy composed this early on in his association with Appaji. I am thinking he spontaneously composed it on a train ride. I remember about how Appaji told KV Murthy to write the first story for Bhakti Mala which was about a family with some great difficulties with a child. Then meeting the family who had that story. Then came the story about Sadguru Stava. This could be in the original English translation of Life History. Guest guest
JayaGuruDeva Datta !! Sri. Ravi Venkatramanji, Thank you so much for your time and effort. For the devotees who chant the ashrama prayer (stava's) daily this information is very welcome!! I was wondering if you (or anyone else) could elaborate on the meaning of " Vande Smartrgami Sanovatu " or direct me to some dattapeetham literature on this. Vande means worship Smartrgami = who immediately appears to the devotee who remembers the Lord Sanovatu = ??
