So sorry to hear you have an underactive thyroid. Indeed its a condition for concern as it slows down metabolism considerably with the likelihood of weight gain, fatigue and the tendency for much sleep due to the brain slowing down as well.

You must take very good care of yourself and although you are unhappy about taking thyroxine tablets, it is important to do so under the supervision of your doctor. This can't be avoided as it does help the system to combat the condition. Mild and regular exercise are important too as this keeps the heart healthy amongst other benefits.

Your doctor should also send you for a blood test to check the level of vitamin D and calcium within your system apart from other checks necessary for your individual condition.

A lot of people have are lacking in vitamin D and calcium which can be devastating in later life if unchecked earlier, especially if they have an underactive thyroid, i.e. they may later find they have developed osteoporosis and suffer the consequences.

The mukhis of rudraksha suggested would be a mala consisting of 5 mukhis for the heart with a 14 mukhi Centre Bead for the Master Gland which is the Pituitary that is situation at the base of the brain and between our temples. Its is responsible for setting the level of function for the thyroid gland and thus the level of thyroid hormone in the blood stream.
