Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta Shree GuruBhyo Namaha from yesterday: " Guru paadokam paanam............... you should meditate upon the image of your Guru continuously at all times and in all states.Singing in praise of Guru should be treated as daily worship. now today: Pujya Sri Swamiji explains: " Meditation upon Guru, singing the glory of the Guru are most important " " Sva deshi-kasyaiva ca naama kirtanam Bhavet-anantasya Shivasya kirtanam Sva deshi-kasyaiva ca rupa cintanam Bhavet-anantasya Shivasya cintanam " the singing in praise of one's Guru amounts to singing the glory of the infinite Shiva.Meditating upon the image of Guru is equivalent to meditating upon the infinite Shiva. Meditation on the image of Guru, singing the various attributes of Guru should go on continuously. That is meditation upon Shiva and singing the glory of Shiva. That is the infinite meditation. That is the meditation upon Vishnu and the chant of His glory. Here there is another secret.Whenever the glory of any deity is sung, if there is no mention of Guru either at the beginning or at the end, that cannot be called a prayer at all.Only after singing the glory of Ganapathi, Saraswati (Devi) and Guru, should singing of any other deity be done. (this last point is especially important for Bhajan & Satsangh Groups. Some years back Sri Swamiji had given instructions how to conduct Satsangh sesssions. Light a lamp, chant AUM three times, sing Bhajans in this order, then follow with Shiva,Vishnu,Hanuman,Datta or any other deities. Then stop and read from a text,aSookti,Swamiji'sspeeches and explain the meaning of at least one Bhajan. " Bhajans must be sung by one person leading and others following the lead singer. Do not worry how good your voice is or how good your Raga is,what is most important is your Bhavana while singing. " ) Sri Guru Datta
