There is an entire array of methods used to access the inner

vehicles, to become aware of them, to activate them and unfold them.

These methods are summarized below:

(1) Present time monitoring – accesses content arising in the present

time without judgment or interaction with material.

(2) Concentration – focuses the attention on discrete loci within the

vehicle, such as inner centers, chakras, or the seed atom of the

vehicle. The attention is held one-pointedly on this locus, and the

content of the vehicle is passively observed as awareness awakens.

(3) Breathing methods – these techniques, such as watching the

breath, speeding up or slowing down the rate of the breath, breathing

a mantra upon the breath, or breathing into the cerebrospinal axis of

the vehicle, yield different energetic effects. Watching the breath

passively absorbs the attention into deeper levels of the vehicle and

into other, higher vehicles. Speeding up the breath (hyperventilative

breathing) energizes the vehicle, slowing down the breath produces a

calming effect. Breathing a mantra may selectively focus the

attention on the spirit, the ensouling entitiy, or a discrete band of

the Great Continuum of Consciousness (GCC); awaken the kundalini

shakti; or unfold the spiritual evolutionary potentials of the

ensouling entity, depending on which mantra is chosen.

(4) Reflective methods – through inner listening for a response to

questions (process meditation, receptive meditation), engaging in

dialog with elements of the mind, or thinking through the

implications of a concept (reflective meditation, inquiry), the

meditator may derive information, insight, or guidance through the

vehicle.

(5) Absorptive methods – by focusing attention on the currents of

inner light, inner sound, inner taste (nectar, ambrosia, soma or

amrita), or the movements of life force, the attention is drawn to

the depth of the vehicle, and can penetrate the bands of the GCC

rapidly. Absorptive methods can be used to gain union of the

attention with the spirit or ensouling entity without tedious,

vehicle-by-vehicle ascension in awareness. Thought bubble mantras

also utilize this strategy.

(6) Suggestive methods — introduces suggestion through affirmation or

auto-hypnosis to direct the vehicle to perform specified activities,

or to create specific outcomes.

(7) Contemplative Union methods – focuses the attention upon the

presence of the ensouling entity directly or upon its reflections in

its vehicles to bring about Gnosis and Realization.

(8) Command methods – while in union with the ensouling entity or the

Self, the meditator activates the Will current to specifically direct

and utilize the abilities of each vehicle.

(9) Radiative methods – after contemplating a virtue or idea (seed

thought), the meditator radiates it as the energy of thought to

others.

(10) Attunement methods – a Master Soul attunes the attentional

principle to the Light by, and the attentional principle in turn

ministers this Light to others.

(11) Spiritual Ascension methods – the spirit moves into each of its

Nadamic channels, effecting an inner purification of its vehicles and

opening the inner current of the Nada.

(12) Translation methods – an initiate directs the Light to unfold

the potentials of the ensouling entity and its vehicles, to direct

the spirit into the Nadamic channels. This same Light is used to

guide the attention, the attentional principle, and the spirit into

union with the new state created by the transference of the Light.

Aspirants need to be fully familiar with methods one through seven,

and method eleven. Disciples add methods eight through ten. Initiates

gain the ability to use method twelve. It is important to know when

to utilize these valuable tools for insight and transformation. Our

instruction in this and later sessions of the Satsang Program will

assist you to access the skills from the entire aspirant array.

Gaining skill with these inner tools leads to full Mastery.
