KANNADAVE SATYA MUSIC PROGRAMME AT NADA MANTAPA

 

 

 

Mysore, Nov. 23 (HT & KMC)- The musical programme Kannadave Satya by Dr. C.

Ashwath and team at Nada Mantapa in Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Ashram here last

evening, enthralled the music lovers.

 

The programme was held in association with Doordarshan Bangalore to mark Kannada

Rajyotsava celebrations at the Avadhoota Datta Peeta.

 

Dr. Ashwath lent his melodious baritone to Kannada songs based on Dasa Sahitya

and Vachana Sahitya. The programme was inaugurated by Sri Ganapathi

Sachchidananda Swamiji by lighting the lamp with the popular song Hachchevu

Kannadada deepa.... playing in the background.

 

Junior Seer of the Mutt, Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji, Dr. Ashwath and

Doordarshan Managing Director Mahendra Joshi were present.

 

MP A.H. Viswanath, speaking as the chief guest, lauded the Doordarshan Kendra

for telecasting programmes based on Kannada language, culture and traditions. C.

Ashwath, in his own inimitable style, presented popular Kannada songs —

Kuvempu's Anandamaya ee jaga hrudaya, Allamma Prabhu's Thanuvu thoranava maadi,

Shishunala Sharif's Soruthihudu maneya Malige, Manase Manasina Manasa, Suggi

Maadona Baa, Purandra Dasa's Thaarakka bindige, Akkamaha Devi's Ashtavidha

archaneya maadi and Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji's Bhuvaneshwari matheya

Madilalli — the audience swaying in their chairs in appreciation. Singer P.V.

Mangala and S. Vinutha enterained the audience with their songs rendered with

the accompaniment of instrumental music.

 

Brief religious discourses were made by both the pontiffs. Mahendra Joshi

welcomed, Veena Sharma compered
