SAI RAMs,

In the verses which are required to to be chanted before commencement of chanting of the Gita(Dhyana Slokas), Gita has been spoken as nectar(amrita) in more than one verse. In fact, one of these verses considers all the Upanishads as cows, Lord Krishna as milkman, Arjuna as calf, men of purified intellect as enjoyers or beneficiaries(of milk) and the supreme nectar of Gita as the milk. The universality of the Gita is nowhere else so beautifully brought out as in the verse referred herein. In fact Gita is not a text book of Hinus alone. It is as universal as the milk. It is a universal scripture and all men who are sincere and intelligent enough to perceive their own imperfections and are thirsting for perfection in themselves are the fittest students on whom the

Gita showers her blessings. It is not difficult to show that the Upanishads and the Gita have the same end in view. In the Gita Arjuna is portrayed as a representative of mankind caught in the life-cycle. The teachings of the Gita are intended to remove the delusion and despondency of not only Arjuna but of all others who are in similar predicament, by unravelling of their cause. Ignorance of the non-dual Brahman which is none other than the innermost Self of the individual, is the source of all trouble. And when once knowledge of Brahman is attained, ignorance(avidya), and its effects disappear. The teachings of the Gita has its intended effect on Arjuna. Arjuna declares at the fag end of the Gita that he is no more the victim of doubts

(gatasandehah) and delusions(nashtomohah) and that he has attained the true knowledge(smritirlabdva) through the grace of the Lord. Why only Arjuna? In fact, all of us can realize our True nature provided we can walk the path laid out for us by the Lord in the Gita.
