Namaste Preeta, sorry to hear of your son's vulnerability to food and

dust allergies resulting in eczema. If possible please change his

diet and leave out food ingredients that he cannot tolerate in the

body system. At the same time, its essential to keep the home

environment dust free.

Natural fibre clothing is also important, like cotton, silk or

linen. These materials enable the skin to breathe, especially in hot

climates. When you need to take him for outings, it will be good for

him to wear long sleeve clothing with long trousers, depending on the

type of climate you live in (warm, hot or cold). Clothing made from

synthetic materials can irritate the sensitive skin of a child badly.

In warm/hot climates, calamine lotion and metholated powder is known

to help but may not cure chronic cases.

When bathing your son, do not use commercial or strong soaps. Try

reetha (soap nut) or gentle Johnson's Baby Bath. The water must not

be too hot as he may also be vulnerable to this.

Eczema can also result due to heat within the body system. Certain

herbs can help remedy this. Please try to consult an Ayurvedic

Physician who will be able to assess and prescribe the right herbs.

The Rudraksha recommended to you for your son by Ms Neeta Ji is

excellent for skin conditions. Its a pity your son refuses to wear

it. Is it possible to let him play with it, then gradually put it in

a pouch to pin to his clothing? Eventually when he gets used to it,

he may begin wearing the beads.

Om Namah Shivaya
