All the Bhaktas of Shri Shirdi SaiBaba referred in Shri Sai Satcharitra are like Spiritual Grandeursaround Sri Maha Vishnu. The Blessed author of Shri Sai Satcharitra(Hemadpant) is like Calf, The nectarine Sai Satcharitra is the Milkand The Pure minded are its Consumers.Just as the Calf drinks some Milk and the bulk consumed by others,Shri Sai Satcharitra benefits the entire humanity although it wasthe inspiration gained by the Blessed Author (Hemadpant). Shri SaiSatcharitra had been hailed as antidote to the worldly Bondage and aManual for daily life. The Upanishads / Scriptures are tense and directive in nature whereas Shri Sai Satcharitra is communicative and so appeals even to thelayman who may be finding belief in the Sadguru – Lord Shri ShirdiSai Baba. Shri Sai Satcharitra explains the identity of the Self andthe ultimate reality.Baba Said...."I am dependent on Him, who thinks and hungers after Me and who doesnot eat anything without first offering to Me. He, who thus comes toMe, becomes one with Me, just as a river gets to the sea and becomesmerged with it."The significance of 'Shri Sai Satcharitra'This is the first and foremost book based on the life-story of ShriSai Baba, which was originally composed in Marathi verse form. Thewriting of the book started in the lifetime of Baba with hisblessings. The Hindi translation of this book is in simple Hindi language, which can be understood even by a common man.The divine truth imparted by this book is even greater than theknowledge contained in the Vedas and Geeta, because all thecharacters and events in it are real and authentic as also recordedin details by many devotees.Because of the expression in simple Hindi it is easy even for everyone to comprehend it. Today there are very few people who canunderstand Sanskrit language properly and absorb the meaning andsubstance easily. The spiritual essence contained in all the religious scriptureslike Vedas, Geeta, Yoga Vashisht is found in the life-story of ShriSainath. The concepts on God and spirituality are explained in such a simpleyet comprehensive manner in 'Shri Sai Satcharitra' that no additionalbook, or commentary etc. is required to understand it. It has anatural flow of which the readers starts feeling as if they had beenclosely associated with its events in their past life.I may mention here that the glory of Shri Sai is spreading in theworld, far and wide, in such an amazing way that detailed informationat the web sites on Internet about Shri Sai and 'Shri SaiSatcharitra' is available for interested readers. The foremost duty of a Sai devotee is therefore to read 'Shri SaiSatcharitra' and absorb it by heart if possible. The more they readthis book, the more it will bring them closer to Baba and all theirdoubts and apprehensions will be cleared. It also has been experienced that during crisis if any devotee issearching for an answer, if he randomly opens of 'Shri SaiSatcharitra' praying Baba sincerely and with faith his answer can befound in that open page. Many people have got their desired benefits after reading 'Shri SaiSatcharitra' for a week in a parayana form. Therefore, 'Shri Sai Satcharitra' should be utilized by all Saidevotees in the following manner:Get the book, 'Shri Sai Satcharitra' in whatever language onechooses to read. Neatly wrap it up in a piece of new cloth, and placeit near Baba's photograph or idol with due sanctity.Whether at home or elsewhere, one should always read a few pages ofthe book every night before going to sleep. Every devotee should tryto keep Baba as the last thought before sleep.During crisis it should be read devotionally for a week, as ismentioned in 'Shri Sai Satcharitra'. If possible, reading shouldbegin on a Thursday or on some other special day, such as Ramnavami,Dussehra, Gurupurnima, Janmashtmi, Mahashivratri, Navratri, etc. After it's completion on the seventh day one should feed the poor anddestitute either in the temple/home or wherever possible. One should read it sitting in some isolated corner in the temple orin front of Baba's statue or Photograph/painting. If other people arepresent, then it should be read to them or with them as well. Groupreading should always be encouraged.Wherever and whenever possible, it should be read continuously fromsunrise to sunset in the temples on auspicious days. Devotees may beasked to read it by turn as is done in chanting the holy name i.e.Naamjap. Encourage children to read this book. Guest guest
Dear Sister, Sai Rams. PARAYAN simply means " reading with utmost faith(Shraddha), religoious fervour, and devotion " . While doing " Parayan " the mind should be at the altar of the God(Supreme or chosen). Generally, devotees do " Parayan " at a place considered most sacred in their home. God will come to one irrespective of the holiness or sacredness of the place if the heart is totally surrendered to God and when there is no trace of ego in one.
