Guest guest
How a boat floats on water? As long as there is no water inside the boat, due to any hole or gap, the boat can safely glide over water. The moment water gets into the boat, the boat will start sinking. One reason is that the boat is hollow inside and compared to the area of contact with water, it is kept afloat by the upward pressure, water exerts on the boat. Coming to our life on this earth, we are placed in a similar situation. We can remain afloat in this ocean of samsar, as long as we keep out worldliness from our mind. The moment, worldly conscious enters our mind, we are as good as a drowned man. Hence, keep the conscious clear of worldly ambitions and activities. We may live in this world but we should not get attached to the world. A lotus has roots in the mud below. It raises it above water. It never allows the water to drown it. Even the lotus leaves do not allow the water drops to stick to the leaves. We must remain as the lotus leaves. Sairam.
