Dear Sai Devotees,

In this week's eChat, we will read a very familiar story to Baba devotees....

-------------------

Once there was a very poor and devoted woman who always prayed to God asking very little, if anything, for herself. But one thought, one desire continued to recur and finally she asked: If it were possible she would love to prepare a special meal and have God share at her table. And God, in His Love for this woman, said He would indeed come the next day and share a meal.Filled with joy and excitement, she prepared a full meal and waited patiently for her most honored guest. Soon there was a knock on the door, and when she opened it, there stood an old beggar asking for something to eat. She could not turn the beggar away, so she invited him in and provided a meal. The beggar ate all that was prepared, expressed his gratitude and left. The woman was only slightly disheartened, she hurried back to the kitchen to prepare more

food for her special guest. A few hours went by and there was a loud knock on the door. This time it was an old gypsy woman with no teeth, who was deaf, who spoke quite loudly and was, rather rudely, insisting that any true believer in God would not deny her something to eat. The woman could not refuse and allowed the Gypsy woman to enjoy the freshly prepared meal. The gypsy woman thanked the host and left.

The woman dozed off into sleep as she patiently waited for God to arrive....and He never did.........

----------

And years later, as the woman recollected the incident, she realized that God kept His word twice in showing up as a beggar and as a Gypsy woman...

OM SAI RAM!
