Guest guest
Dear Jatin, Namaskar My reply was meant: how soon, depends on individual karmas from preceding births and those created during this. Results do not occur too soon because all of us have rebirthed trillions of times or more. Mantra yoga or mantra sadhana helps to 'burn off' those layers of karmas to create a new slate. A person who has no faith in mantras or who do not perform mantras, may find it takes longer to see effects. Another person who performs mantras daily may see benefits sooner. The time frame of how long it takes, differ from person to person and the time frame they expect. Mantra yoga is when we sit to recite a mantra for 108 times a day. In one year, its 365 days so we have recited 365 times per year. Some people choose a mantra and recite it for only 30, 45 or 90 days. This is 'short mantra yoga'. For some, due to past life poornava samskaras, they may gain siddhi of the mantra within a short time. For others, it will take much, much longer. Others who undertake a mantra for (rough numbers example only) 125,000 times, 11,000, 121,000 times (if recommended by a guru, priest or swami) and who are willing to discipline themselves to chanting a particular mantra for say, 125,000 times, have to sit for 125,000 days. This means it will take many years to complete the mantra sadhana if one round is done daily. One round means 108 times. Both the terms 'mantra yoga' and 'mantra sadhana' are commonly used loosely to mean the recitation of mantras. One can be the other or vice versa. But usually the length of time frame is not mentioned because a person can only perform the number of mantras he has the strength or time to do so. One can be the other or vice versa. It is best to begin with mantra yoga to build up spiritual focus, one pointed mind when reciting, bhakti. strength and patience. Mantra yoga is a good practice and steady for everyone if they belief it. In this modern world, very few people are able to perform mantra sadhana unless they have lots of time and are able to seek peaceful and spiritual seclusion when they need. It is not recommended for everyone unless the person is already very experienced with mantras and single-mind focus, faith and discipline. Whether its yoga or sadhana, it doesn't matter. What is most important is bhakti and faith. Aum is correct. Om is just a derivation and many people use it. Universally there is another accepted version in the dictionary spelt as Ohm. But Aum is the most correct.
