Guest guest
Namaskar Ramesh, My two cents' worth: I don't mean to ridicule Nagmani but agree wholeheartedly with the Irula snake-catcher who is over 80 years old that such a gem does not exist but is only a myth, at least during Kali Yuga. If Nagmani really occurs, then all Irula tribals will be billionaires and rated in the Forbes magazine instead of still being snake catchers. Maybe there are one or a few families who keep low profiles in the entire world, may have nagmani passed down the generations and preserved from other Yugas by forefathers but of course they won't be telling the world they possess this elusive gem. But this is rather unlikely. Om Namah Shivaya ---------------------- From Ramesh (Cool Guy) Dear All, As some of the members may be aware, there is a large concentration of the Irula Tribe (traditional snake catchers) in South India. You may also be aware that there is a very popular Snake Park in Guindy (Chennai) which was founded by Romulus (Rom) Whitaker {I hope I have got the name right} and houses a variety of reptiles including the King Cobra and Pythons. Through some known people, I had a fascinating conversation with a few of these tribals including a very old snake catcher in his late eighties. He burst laughing when I mentioned the Nagmani. He said it is most unfortunate that thousands of cobras were killed for procuring the Nagmani but no one ever succeeded. He assured me that it was a myth and that in his whole life he or his fellow tribals have never seen the Nagmani. Members views are invited.
