What is the meaning of Jaya Guru Datta?

..

Jaya Guru Datta i believe is short for Jaya Gurudeva Dattatreya. I believe by

saying Jaya Guru Datta, one is empowering the Dattatreya principe or enlarging

(invoking) the Dattatreya-consiousness. Just like when one is saying Hare

Krishna one is enlarging the Krishna-Consiousness. Sri Swamiji is Sri

Dattatreya. Sri Swamiji His work is service to mankind and all creation. Jaya

Guru Datta is a code word, which creates higher levels of harmony for all

creation, just by saying the three words with sincere devotion.

His Holiness Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja in the Annapurna Mandiram,

opposite the Datta Temple and Trinity Hall, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Later, Sri

Swamiji asked the devotees to answer a few spiritual questions.

 

What is the meaning of Jaya Guru Datta? The devotees answered as Jaya means

victory. Guru is the embodiment of God. While God is the formless Almighty, Guru

is God in human form. Datta means gift. One who is compassionate and giving.

Guru is that compassionate one who blesses us with knowledge and therefore

victory to such Guru. Sri Swamiji said that this answer was 80% correct but more
