Namaste Dr Patel, pls scroll below for answers.....1) The procedure of keeping rudraksha healthy has already been answered by yourself in the first paragraph of your message.2) The frequency of maintaining depends on the condition of the bead. If it appears dry, gritty or dehydrated, then its time to wash, dry and oil them. Having said that, some people do it every 3 months as a habitual or spriitual practice.3) Use only gente soapy water or soap-nut (reetha).4) Gentle sunlight at room temperature would be beneficial. But always make sure the beads are completely dry before oiling them.5) Mysore Sandalwood Oil doesn't cost a fortune. Shall send you a pic and link later so you can see. Yes there are also other options such as cold-pressed coconut or olive oil. Cold pressed is suggested because they don't go rancid. Both coconut and olive oils are as good as each other so its a matter of personal preference which one you wish to use.6) If the bead chips off slightly, its fine, no bad side effects. But if there is a crack, then its not good for use.Aum Namah Shivayarudrakshabeadsociet iesclub@gro ups.com, "Dr. Pritesh Patel" <drpriteshpatel@ ...> wrote:>> As far as I know dust and grime accumulates on the rudraksha beads > with time, which has to be cleaned with warm water and a brush > periodically.
