Guest guest
Namaskar Rajesh, It is said that fasting on Mahashivaratri is most auspicious for devotees but for those not used to fasting, it is not highly necessary to do so. What is more important is one's health, stamina and energy when it comes to fasting. If one feels weak and cannot concentrate on the vrat, except on food, then its better not to oberserve fasting at all. This way, one can retain energy and focus on god, the festivities and prayers. Yes, Mahashivaratri falls on March 6 this year.
