White Zircon and Peridot Rings/ How to Wear Gems

February 27, 2008 Dear Raja I have to set these gemstones in platinum/gold, hence it is too early to say what the effects would be. I am wearing Zircon (substitute for diamond) for Venus and Peridot (substitute for emerald) for Mercury. I shall let you know the effects in a month or two. I had the occasion to meet a very eminent person in Kolkata (a nuclear physicst), brick-red in mathematics and an amateur astrologer and gemmologist. He is really very good in astrology and gemmology but he refuses to turn it into a profession and hence strangers and the general public are deprived of an opportunity to consult him. He brings great mathematical precision in the study of astrology and his study of my horoscope was mind boggling. In Kolkata [where I

stayed for 48 years since birth before shifting to Chennai in 2005] there is unfortunately no dearth of charltans posing as eminent astrologers. For the benefit of everyone I am reproducing his advice on matters relating to gemmology. 1. Do not wear stones of all hues and colours for improvement. This does not apply to the Navratna Ring or Pendant since the gemstones are small in size. 2. In case you are wearing Ruby, Pearl, Coral or Yellow Sapphire, please do not wear Diamond, Blue Sapphire or Emerald. However, you can wear Ruby and Emerald together. 3. Please wear only one or two gemstones after consulting two or three astrologists or

gemmologists. Please also ensure that the gemstone does not have any visible scratches or cracks. 4. It is best to wear a particular gemstone for three days to one week tied to your arm with a piece of neat white cloth or muslin and observe its effects before having the gemstone set in a ring or pendant. 5. Once the gemstone is set in a ring or pendant, have a small puja done after placing it at the altar in a famous temple in your city. The pujari at the temple would do the needful. 6. Chant the Navagraha Stotra in the morning and evening. I shall trying to send a scanned copy of

the Navagraha Stotra for everyone's benefit in my next email. This will take only 3 minutes to chant as it comprises only 9 stanzas of 2 sentences each. This is a very powerful Stotra to mitigate the malefic effect of bad planets. For all round benefits, everyone can chant the Aditya Hridayam Stotra in praise of the Sun God.
