Twelve year cycle

Jaya Guru Datta,

 

Indeed, cycles in human life have often connections with planets in our

solar system. Twelve years is the time it takes for Jupiter (Guru in Indian

Astrology) to revolve around the sun ie go through the 12 Zodiac signs which

means basically that it takes Jupiter about one year to go through one

Zodiac sign.

 

I remember Sri Swamiji one day saying that every 12 years in man's life,

quite few changes are usually occuring: new job, new friends, new place to

live,...So one should expect some changes of that kind when reaching the age

of 12, 24, 36, 48, 60,...

 

The other interesting cycle is ~30 years. This is the time it takes for

Saturn (Shani in Indian Astrology) to revolve around the sun ie ~2.5 years

for each zodiac sign.
