Aum is the Sun of consciousness.

The ego is the moon.

The mind is the lake in which is reflected the moon, which shines not of itself,

but of the reflected light of the sun.

 

In the absence of the sun, neither the moon, nor the lake, would be visible.

 

Night is ignorance; whereas, daylight is the dawn of knowledge when the solar

light outshines everything else in the heavens.
