Thank you for the story reminding us of the importance of not keeping

sweets to draw ants!

The last time I went to see our Beloved Baba I met a wonderful Dutch

woman who gave me some Dutch sweets. I knew I had to be careful how I

kept them so I put them in a plastic bag inside of my suitcase. I

zipped it shut and went off to darshan, thinking the candies had been

packed well enough to not cause a problem.

Late in the afternoon when I returned to my room, exhausted from the

heat and wanting to rest, I opened my suitcase and all that was in it

was literally moving with hundreds of ants. They were everywhere

inside of my clothes and suitcase pockets. I was staying in a guest

house in Brindavan and to empty the ants out of my suitcase I thought

I would have to take it out on to the sidewalk by the public street

and shake everything out one by one.

I was so tired and shaking my under clothes out on a public street was

going to be very inappropriate and embarrassing. Instead I removed

the candies in the plastic bag and put them inside of a more secure

plastic container with a lid that snapped on tightly. I placed this

container on the shelf up above, as far away from my bed and suitcase

as I could and went to bed. I just thought that in the morning, I

would take everything outside when I had more energy.

In the morning when I unzipped my suitcase again, there wasn't an ant

to be seen. But there was the last of a line of them coming out of my

suitcase and going underneath my door.

This was wonderful Grace to experience and an important lesson was

learned. Even a zipped suitcase with candies does not keep ants away.

They went right through the closed zipper to get in and again to get

out. Thanks to Baba helping me think clearly even though I was

exhausted, I avoided any further ant problems.
