Guest guest
Namaste Sixthaxsis, please scroll below for answers: 1) Yes, you can use 1 Japa mala to chant all the mantras you mentioned. Alternatively, there are other persons who prefer to use separate japa malas, each for one type of mantra. Its a matter of personal preference. Sometimes, they drape the malas around idols, images of Shiva or Shivalingam. 2) Red sandalwood is suggested for chanting Ganesh mantras. But white sandalwood can also be used. 3) Normally Devi mantras are chanted with sphatik (crystal) malas but rudraksha can also be used. 4) There is no specifically prescribed mala for Hanuman mantras and rudraksha is widely used. The other alternatives are red sandalwood, carnelian or red coral. Om Namah Shivaya ------------------ From sixthaxsis Namaskar! I have several questions about using malas: 1. Can use one 108 beads mala for chanting several mantras? For example: om namah shivaya, mahamrtyunjaya mantra and shiva gayatri mantra are 3 different mantras. Do I need 1 or 3 different japamalas if I want to chant 108 times each one daily? 2. Which mala is better for chanting Ganesha mantras - red or white sandalwood? 3. Can chant Devi's mantras using Rudraksha malas? 4. Which is prescribed japamala for chanting Hanuman's mantras Thank you very much in advance.
