Guest guest
There is no one who does not love him or herself more than anything else in the universe. Even those who claim to live their lives for others, are in fact only living for themselves (My and Mine). This is the truth, whether admitted to one's self or not. One is always only concerned with one's own welfare - though it is disguised as concern for others - ultimately, it is only concern for how those others will impact one's self. If this was not the case, then you would be equally concerned withthe plight of the people on the street, as much as you are concerned with near/dear relationships. Bhakthi is merging the conception of the individual self, i, with the universal self, I, and realizing their unity, such that one's love for self is transmuted into a love of the parabrahman ( " All That Is " and " Beyond All That Is " ). When the attention is directed towards the supreme Self, this is the supreme bhakthi. When once the attention is fully absorbed in that self, the state of queiscience is gained in which all thoughts are absorbed into the supreme Self. The degree to which you are still moved by external happenings, is the measure by which you can know your level of surrender. Without surrender to the supreme Self, no progress is possible. What you constantly think about, that is what you become. To pour the oil of worldly thoughts onto the lingam of the supreme Self, is the true dhyanam, and is the real abishekham. --- Gurorangripadme ManaScenna Lagnam tata: kim! tata: kim! tata: kim! tata: kim!?
