Namaste Sir,

In this case I have a query, is the 8 mukhi rudraksha

considered as a Ganesh Rudraksha bead or will it be a

Ganesh Rudraksha Bead with Trunk Prtrusion which is

more effective as I intend to have a combination mala

which will have one Ganesh Rudraksha.

Kindly Clarify,

Aummmm

Namaste Anil, 8-face Rudraksha has 8 mukhis or facets. Ganesh Trunk Rudraksha may have 5-faces or more, plus a distinctive trunk. However, properties and efficacies for both the beads are similar. Only difference is 8-face is governed by Rahu. But the Trunk bead has no ruling deity. Please read this :

Ganesh Rudraksha bears a Trunk like elevation as is seen on the face of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva. Ganesha, the elephant-headed God of success and overcoming obstacles, is also associated with wisdom, learning, prudence, and power. He gives 'Riddhi-Siddhi'. He is the first to be worshipped in the beginning of any auspicious occasion. Ganesh Rudraksha provides the wearer perfection in every sphere in life and the grace of Lord Ganesha is received by him. The Ganesh Rudraksha Bead is really special due to the way it grows the thorny protrusions of the outer surface of the Bead. The Ganesh rudraksha can be kept at the place of worship and should be daily worshipped to gain the blessings of "Riddhi-Siddhi Dayak" Sri Lord Ganesha./ganeshrudraksha.htm
