Set a prayer

in motion and you have set a bird with a pointed beak soaring to the sky.

Watch it, as it pierces the gates of heaven...

Acknowledging your sincere prayers

comes a gentle tap from the Greater Heaven...Ms. V. Aruna, an alumna of

Anantapur Campus of Sri Sathya Sai University narrates as to how she

experienced His Gentle Tap. ...extracted from June 1994 issue of Sanathana

Sarathi.

It was one of those

days when I was amidst a busy group of hard working, good and fun loving

friends of mine. It was 6 o'clock in the morning when the teacher's whistle

was heard on the field. Busy feet rushed to the serene field, a lovely

carpet of green which was dominated by the lion shaped hill. The precious

day had dawned. The rays of the rising sun were yet to bring forth a new

glory through the ring of lovely mountains lit by the glow of a new dawn. A

cool breeze blew across the morning sky.

The 'Sports Meet

Day' would soon arrive. We all know that our dear Lord desires perfection

along with united team spirit in any little item that we present before

Him. Almost fifteen days had passed and our teachers were trying their best

to get co-ordination and perfection in the 'formations' item we were going

to present. Every effort seemed in vain, especially with a group of 500

students who were not only enthusiastic, but, fun loving and naughty too.

Despite our limitations, we all seemed confident to do our best on the

Final Day.

Two more days ahead

of us, our performance was not yet up to the expectations of our teachers.

We prayed silently in our hearts: " God, please help us to do the item

perfectly. " Lo! Our prayer was heard!... IndeedGod knows how to teach

and the exact time to do so.

God chose that

serene morning to whisper His message to us. We were still getting ready in

our respective positions, when there was a sudden change in the sky. The

rising Sun spread his rays of light pink and golden yellow across the sky.

A cool breeze caressed our cheeks and in a moment, each one of us was

looking 'up' filled with admiration and amazement.

It was an

unbelievable 'EXPANSIVE SIGHT'. Hundreds of lovely white cranes were flying

in grand formation from the northern horizon to the south, just beneath the

drifting clouds. Their numbers seemed countless.

I stood still, gaping at the

thrilling sight of cranes flying in perfect formation. We all were struck

with wonder and awe at the glory of God and Nature. We clearly understood

the meaning of what the Lord whispered to us. When small birds, in their

thousands, can fly in a formation of perfect order, why can't we? At once,

our doubts vanished. We knew we could do it.

I thought to myself: " God

loves His children. He always sends His blessings and messages to them

secretly—mostly through the nature around. " So we can never

really miss Him. He is always with us...and it was indeed this Benign

Presence that was there with us, His children, on the final day of our

performance!

An enthralling episode

from the illustrious evenings in Prasanthi Nilayam depicting

Divinity’s mesmeric touch that lifts hearts and minds to euphoric

heights...as narrated by Graciela Busto from Argentina in Sanathana

Sarathi, April 1996.

......This afternoon something

unusual happens. Swami talks briefly to His students; then one student

moves forward and after kissing Baba's Feet looks for a place in front of

his classmates and begins speech. Some Indian ladies next to us point out

that the students had prepared some stories about certain episodes from the

Mahabharata which they are presenting in such a way as to show how to put

them into practice in their own lives. One by one they give their speech

and when finishing their presentation, Baba congratulates them. Now, a

student about ten years of age goes up the bench used as a small podium

from which he can give his speech. He speaks for a few minutes, but

suddenly he stops his speech, thinks for a while and starts again, then, he

keeps silent in grief. He has forgotten his text. He, then, goes to Baba,

looks at Him with his face in distortion and begins crying.

At that instant Swami smiles, so

filled with such incredible love, goes to him and comforts the child by

hugging him and by patting on his back. However, the boy does not get any

comfort; he had been preparing his speech for days and now, he forgets

everything in this way and in front of Baba!

As Swami understands the child's

mood, He holds the boy's hand and looks at it in astonishment and asks him

very loudly so that everyone can hear Him: " But what have you done to

the ring I gave you? " In amazement, the child stops crying and

replies: " No Swami, You have never given any ring to me " . Swami

insisted: " Tell me what you have done to the ring! " In view of

this the boy gets fully concentrated on this new matter and answers with

his face close to Swami's: " You have never given me a ring, Baba,

never! "

" You say I have never given

you a ring? " says Swami smiling while He starts doing the premonitory

movement of some Divine gift in front of the amazed student. On this

occasion the process culminated in the manifestation of a ring that He

immediately put on the student's right hand. After this, Swami asked the

child to continue with his speech auld so he did, faultlessly; fully

recovered from the previous amnesia.

What happened was but a brief

episode in one of the many Ashram afternoons. Yet another Leela of

Bhagawan! However, this clearly shows the Avatar's sensitivity, the

dimension of His Love, The urge of His love comes first in front of other

urges. He did not scold the student or make him go back to his place among

the other students. Moreover, He helped him overcome the problem, He played

on him, He encouraged him and raised his self-esteem. Later Swami completed

this with a regal gift, so he got another chance to speak.

I am sure that, for that child, that ring will

stand forever as a symbol of the truth immersed in Swami's words: " God is Love; Live in Love " .
