FEATURE OF THE WEEK: Unseen miracles!

Behind every prayer and parayan (reading of holy books) there lies a desire, the quest for a miracle. Nice are those experiences where the seeker gets what he desires. It is the experiences of several devotees to receive the good news, from seemingly nowhere, beyond the logic, at the end of a sincere prayer. What of those who do not see the light at the end of the tunnel? Did Sai not hear them? Are those prayers not sincere? A prayer is always sincere. The mere thought of surrendering our ego, even for a moment, at the feet of Sadguru and invoking His grace to the betterment of our existence is a significant step. However, not being able to receive the expected or wanted may not construe as a failure. Sai spoke about this in Sri Sai Satcharitha. Why do not all the flowers blossom?

Karmic role in our lives aside, it does help one to know why the prayers aren't answered always. Why is that Sai withholds His miracles, seemingly to a few "unfortunate" ones? A careful analysis may help our little minds to some extent. Next time, if our prayers are unanswered, let us remember those occasions carefully and move on. Let our faith be doubled and let our love to Sainath is unchanged. It will be revealed later, that the prayers that were "unanswered" were a part of a much bigger plan. It will be known that, what happened is in our best interests. It will also be known that it may not be a dealing between Sai and the self, but a part of a grander revelation. "Seek my treasure. My coffers are open", said Sai. The best miracles are the ones that are unseen.

CONTRIBUTED ARTICLE: Baba was not someone who would stifle legitimate inquiry

So much can be easily said of Sai Baba by all - mere observers from outside. But he who judged of Baba by the outside alone would be greatly mistaken in his estimate. Baba was, of course, adapting himself to the capacity of people that resorted to him for help and protection. Most of them were superficial people- seeking mostly some material gain or advantage; and to them he did not reveal his inner nature. But when anyone capable of diving deeper came to him he revealed more of himself and his powers. I was keenly observing him from the first and he noticed it and encouraged my habit of observing and judging - complimenting me as "Hushiar" or clever". On occasions he told me "what a 'Dubya', i.e., sluggard you are" - evidently referring to my failure to penetrate beneath the surface of things on those occasions. Baba was not the man to stifle legitimate inquiry. Everything he did or said was full of significance; mostly I could understand

them.

To one deeply observing him; the startling fact came out into greater and greater prominence that Baba was living and operating in other worlds also, besides this world and in an invisible body. Remarks made by him openly would be treated as meaningless ranting by those who did not know him. His language also was highly cryptic - full of symbology, parable, allegory and metaphor. Literal interpretations of them would be made by superficial people - who would then conclude that Baba was a worldly man amongst worldly men and a very avaricious man at that. For instance, a man came to Baba and watched him for a time; and I asked him what impression he formed of Baba. His answer was "I never saw any saint talking of money all the hours of the day" and he felt disappointed. This man did not know that "Paisa" - money, was used by Baba to denote Punya Apvrva or merit, very often. But on a careful observation and analysis of his talks, one must

conclude that his nature, powers and functions were very great and that the way in which people would benefit by His guidance and help would also be peculiar. (Prof. G.G. DEVOTEES SAY: ArunaDear Baba, thank you so much for your blessings to my daughter. As I promised to write my prayer to Sai Vichaar after she gets better. After hearing that she had peri-tonsilitis and needed to get a lump in her throat drained, we got really worried. After praying to you and finding that next the surgery wasn't needed and that she got better with the medicine I knew you had taken care of her. Even though we're so far away from her and she's at her university I know Baba that you're always with her and you take care of her during all her difficulties. Today is my husband's 50th birthday and I really hope you bless him with his most wanted gift and bless my daughter with her school studies. Once again thank you so much Baba for being there for our family.

Sai devoteeDear Sainatha, thank you very much for taking care of Ramesh and solving his health problems. Swami help him to control his body movements and take care of him as You have been doing so far. Swami, I have no words to express my gratitude, my eyes filled with tears when Ramesh called and said that he is feeling a lot better. Please make him devoted to You and visit your temple every week.

KrupaDear Sai Baba, thank you very much for the blessing you have showered on us but sorry for placing my thanks giving to you in this regard. Always give us the strength to have confidence in you and to pray to you. We both love you and seek your blessings. Thank you very much Sainath. ShashiThis is with reference to my prayer to Baba, praying for a job with accenture and reuniting me with my family. First prayer is fulfilled. So I would like to convey my whole hearted thanks to Sai Baba. Thank you Baba.

PRAYER CLUB: MonicaI have been suffering from health related problems since the beginning of the year. Because of this nothing seemed to be going right at home as well as at work. But I had full faith in Baba. I visited Shirdi in August and since then things have started to fall in place. Shraddha and Saburi have kept me going and will keep me going.

AnupamaSaibaba, I beg you to cure my mother. You know everything, I am also not in good health condition and at this time if some thing happens to my mother I can't bear it. Baba, please kindly cure her of all ailments. You are the God almighty Baba. I will devote my entire life in your service.

Sai devoteeOm Sai Ram. Baba please help me. I've spent 6 years trying to complete my engineering degree, I've come so close yet it is still so far away. You know my poor eyesight was the main reason for my poor performance. Baba I've wasted so many years of my life now. Why did you let me come so far Baba? Only you know Baba. Please I pray to you help save my dreams and future. You know I'm a good person and that if I can qualify I can only do good. Please don't let the university expel me and please bring everything to my favor. Baba you helped me many times before, now I need you more than ever. Devotees please send your blessings to me. I will be forever grateful. Om Sai Ram.

EXPERIENCE OF DEVOTEES: KavithaSri Sainathji have done a lot of miracles in my life and I want to share it with all Sai devotees. I was suffering from thyroidities for more than 10 years. Before three years, one day I had severe throat pain and I started crying while I was taking a bath and suddenly I prayed to my Sai saying that please help me relieve of this problem because I want to bring up my daughter very well. After coming out of the bathroom my husband came with eltroxin tablets and asking me to take them immediately. Suddenly my daughter opened the cover and she gave the tablets and immediately she jumped with lots of joy when she opened the tablet cover fully, there was Saibaba's beautiful picture on the cover and I could not control my tears and this is how my Sai started his miracle for me which is still continuing and will keep continuing. When we where in Chennai one time my father came to Chennai and I took him to Injambakkam Shirdi

Saibaba's temple. There was one wish fulfilling tree and my father prayed and he bought ropes to tie around the tree asking for some wishes to Saibaba. One of his wish was that I should have one more boy child as I along with my daughter and he told me about that. Then I was telling him that already Pooja is 8 years old and I have no idea of having one more baby boy. After 2 years my husband got a job in Chandigargh and we came here. After 5 months I have some problem in getting my periods and we went to doctor and doctor said that I am conceived and really I was very much wondering and surprised that it was found to be a boy baby in the 6th month scan. Now my son Sai Akshay is one year old and we are eagerly waiting to visit Shirdi to get Sai's blessings. Still his miracles are continuing and I wish to share all the experiences in the next mail.
