Guest guest
Namaskar Sanjeev, regarding blood sugar please read below: 1) Outside factors can make blood sugar level increase. For example extreme heat or stress can cause it. Also, when the level is high, this may lead to a person falling asleep. Stress, whether physical or emotional can affect blood sugar levels by sometimes sending it down and sometimes up. Its important to give your mother an environment of peace and calm, and not make her worry about anything. 2) Sleep may be disturbed by sugar level. 3) Your mother may need an adjustment in insulin, diet or exercise pattern - or a combination of all three. This is for the doctor to decide and advice her. Please see a doctor for professional consultation. 4) 'Normal' blood glucose level is below 10mmol/l, although sometimes doctors may want to keep it under 8mmol/l. Fourteen isn't a disaster, but it would be better if it never went higher than 10mmol/l. 5) Lots of things influence sugar levels but mostly they are affected by the food eaten and the activities undertaken. Type of activities from walking to housework to exercise are included. Its essential to maintain the same diet and exercise even though in reality both of these will fluctuate quite a lot. 6) Ask your mother to try to record in a diary about her daily food intake and exercise patterns. She needs to write down the times as well as the blood sugar level. This suggestion should be carried out for 2 weeks, every 30 minutes throughout the day. This will give an objective record that she can examine for clues about what influences her blood sugar level. The diary can also be taken to her doctor for examination when necessary. It will give him a better idea how to give her proper treatment. Its important to take any medicine the doctor gives her. The exercises or activities are akin to remedial therapy if she performs them gently and slowly without exerting herself. These may help with her back and knee pains. 7) Regarding rudraksha, the suggestion is to obtain a rudraksha mat for her to lay or sit on in bed, couch or the armchair. On days when the pain is too severe, the rudraksha mat can be rolled up and used for rubbing/massaging the back and knee. The electromagnetic properties and heat from the beads will help to soothe the pain. If she likes, she can apply a medicated oil for removing pain on the back and knees before rubbing with the rolled up rudraksha mat. 8) 'Rudraksha Water Beads' are for soaking and drinking for good health. They help with blood pressure and cholesterol. I'm not sure if they also assist with blood sugar. Its harmless to try them by soaking overnight in water for drinking the next morning. 9) If your mother has time, she may wish to try reciting the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. Amongst other things, its for health and also Shiva's Moksha Mantra. Some people found that this mantra gives them peace and makes them feel better. A few others mentioned it helped remedy their ailments.
