Namaste Chandan,

 

The wearing of 3 beads rudraksha is mentioned in holy texts, hence

its advisable to wear a minimum of 3 beads of a specific mukhi for

good effects. Yes, 3 is the minimum and extra beads can be added if

you wish.

 

Rudraksha from 3 beads upwards are as good as gemstones as rudraksha

do not have side effects and also last for 100's of years if

maintained properly. It is well-known that gems have side effects.

 

Regarding a benefic planet, if it is weak, then a gem for that planet

can be worn to strengthen it. Again preferably, rudraksha will prove

more useful because of the lack of side effects.

 

The number of beads, whether its 3 or many more, is a matter of

personal choice and it also depends on personal budget. There is no

right or wrong choice when it comes to selecting rudraksha. They are

Tears of Shiva and for saving mankind.
