Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta Recently I started a thread about steadfast devotion. If I now think about a YouTube clipping recently posted in this group I am wondering, if the thoughts that made me start this thread are of propulsive or directive nature. Most definitely of type propulsive nature. I am very grateful for all the useful and blessed feedback. To develop steadfast devotion we need to (according to me) integrate sri swamiji in our daily lives with creativity, sincerety and most important gratitude & satisfaction. Every morning and every evening some minutes should be spend. You can make use of the many tools made available such as photo's, the raksha mantra, dvd's, cd's, books, speeches, etc. The overwhelming feelings and the state of being of the one who falls in love for the first time can be likened to state of steadfast devotion. The one who truly falls in love for the first time can hardly think of anyone or anything else but his/her loved one. This worldly (love) relationship can be likened to the pouring of water. The pouring of water has gaps and after a while the lover and his/her beloved have fights and quarrels: gaps. The spiritual (love) relationship we have with Sadguru can be likened to the pouring of oil. The pouring of oil has no gaps. And from this the following can be concluded. The love Sri Swamiji has for you can be likened to the feeling of the one who just fell in love, only now this state is a permanent state. Unedited reply: Steadfast devotion is such ( according to me) that whatever happens Sadguru knows the best. Total Surrenderance is what can bring steadfast devotion. Such surrenderance should be developed. Always the human mind asks WHY Me? WHY? WHAT FOR? etc. Every thing is based on ones own karma. Guru changes the karma if needed. Stop asking questions. Think what all the Sadguru has so far given to you. Appreciate the grace so far you have recieved & many a times which are impossible He has made it possible for us. Appreciate that & try & compare yourself with the people who do not have a Guru. we are so fortunate. we have Guru like our Appaji. Think about your own friends, who are going through so much in life with challenging time such as finances, health, Job marriage etc. the list just grows in the mundane world. list out yourself the things Sadguru has sorted in your life. you will start appreciating. He is a friend , father , mother & a role model in our life. some times even parents feel tired of our problems., friends will run away from us , because they are tired of listening to our problems. where as sadguru never will ditch you. You speak to His picture Lo!!! answer comes back. That is our Sadguru. If the day goes smoothly that itself is a miracle of Sadguru. Steadfast devotion is that we should develop an attitude come what may GURU should be our main focus. He knows the best. When you totally surender at His feet stead fast devotion develops by itself. Unedited reply: It is all depending on our mindset. Our devotion towards Satgurudev should be constant and steadfast. The devotion of the devotee may be tested by Datta Satguru at any time and it is HIS liberty to do it. Here in our life, our Ego is an umbrella in between the shower of rain and our human body. Here the rain assumed as Blessings of Sri Swamiji and the Umbrella is egoism preventing the shower of blessings. If we remove the umbrella, the Blessings in the form of rain will drench upon us. But we are not ready to go on without umbrella. Satgurudev pours blessings on everybody, but we think that we are doing everything. We are expecting HIS support only at the time of facing difficulties. Swamiji says, " Happiness and sorrow comes like hot waves and cold winds. It will pass away after sometime " , Hence, We must train ourselves to face both. It is Datta Leela " Our duty is to provide the entire space in our Heart to Satgurudev He dwells in it and protect us from all sorts of difficulties. I feel this is steadfast devotion. Thank you all for your feedback. Sri Guru Datta Win.
