Jai Sai Ram,Dear devotees,This is a very wonderful message.I would like your advice on one of the things that I was a bit confused about. My questions may sound a bit silly but I cannot help but ask.

I have not found a practical way to handle people who use us like tissues. I acknowledge that there are a lot of faults in me as well but there are some people who come into our life and it gets a bit tricky then. Previously I used to think that he/she will change the selfish ways of doings things but I have experienced more than twice that I just wasted my time and I was not at mental peace with such people.

I figured that Baba doesn't like us to bark at others like a dog even if it is not our fault, so one thing I know is that I must not do that in dealing with anyone. Is it right to be polite and move on, or shall I go on tolerating and be with them (so called friends)? What are other ways to deal with such people, where I won't upset Baba in anyway?

Thank you all in advance,May Baba bless all,Jai Sai RamOn 09/08/07, Anitha Kandukuri <

Sairam,

Happy Baba's day to you all. May Baba bless us all and give us wisdom to choose right from wrong and guide us in the right path taking His sweet name always.

For last few weeks I have been reflecting over the incidents in life and wondering over the behaviour of people who call themselves true devotees of God, or virtuous or very kind but their actions were on the contrary to teachings of human values. I kept questioning BABA:

1. How can people sleep at night when they have abused, tortured robbed their family of peace, money and wealth. What happened to love, what happened to the sleepless nights parents spend beside the bedside of the child who now considers them a pain.

2. How can people be manipulative to meet their ends, ie, be nice to you just so as to get their work done, like look after their son or daughter and once the work is finished forget about them. It is like using them like a tissue and throwing them off. Is not this contrary to Baba's teaching of showing gratitude.

3. People involved in temples and worship of Baba play political games and manipulate others to their benefit all for fame and name. Is this spirituality.

4. People cheat others and give donations to God as a share in the spoils of booty. They take name of god, but engage in ungodly acts against other humans. How can god accept such tokens?

5. They say love is unconditionally. But unfortunately in present world everything is conditional, friends, relatives and devotion towards god. It is life of you scatch my back and I scratch yours case. It is pathetic to see that values such as compassion, unconditional love (godliness) empathy does not exist any more. How can god let world deteriorate?

6. There are people (like me) who are judgmental, and think that world is imperfect and devious and fail to see personal flaws. How should such people be reassured that God knows everything and takes care of everybody and they should concentrate on their welfare?

Well we all fall into one or the other category of the characteristics described above. After all we are humans. Here is the response from Baba for my questions.. Beware none of us or our actions will be spared, a time comes when we all have to pay for our actions. Just because we have good times now does not mean God has forgoten our past deeds. No man born on this earth is ever escapes the destiny created by their actions. Next time we say 'ouch' 'I am in pain' let us reflect on our deeds past and then we might find the answer for our suffering. Praying to god will give us strength to bear the test but he will never let us escape the punishment, because we chose to inflict it upon ourselves with our behaviour. Beware of the actions...

Baba's Advice Regarding our Behaviour

The following words of Baba are general and invaluable. If they are kept in mind

and acted upon, they will always do you good. Unless there is some relationship

or connection, nobody goes anywhere. If any men or creatures come to you, do not

discourteously drive them away, but receive them well and treat " them, with due

respect. Shri Hari (God) will be certainly pleased, if you give water to the

thirsty, bread to the hungry, clothes to the naked, and your verandah to

strangers for sitting and resting. If anybody wants any money from you, and you

are not inclined to give, do not give, but do not bark at him, like a dog. Let

anybody speak hundreds of things against you, do not resent by giving any bitter

reply. If you always tolerate such things, you will certainly be happy. Let the

world go topsy-turvy, you remain where you are. Standing or staying in your own

place, look on calmly at the show of all things passing before you. Demolish the

wall of difference that separates you from Me; and then the road for our meeting

will be clear and open. The sense of differentiation, as I and thou, is the

barrier that keeps away the disciple from his Master, and unless that is

destroyed the state of union or atonement is not possible, " Allah Malik " i.e.

God is the sole Proprietor, nobody else is our Protector. His method of work is

extra-ordinary, invaluable, and inscrutable. His will will be done and He will

show us the way, and satisfy our heart's desires. It is on account of Rinaubandh

(former relationship) that we have come together, let us love and serve each

other and be happy. He, who attain the supreme goal of life, is immortal and

happy; all others merely exist, i.e., live so long as they breathe " .

Baba give us wisdom to act as per your bidding. Forgive us our sins and lead us not unto temptation.

BABA bless us always.

Sairam Saurabh,

This is an age old problem. People in general are selfish, be it you, me or our neighbours. The reason for this selfishness is survival of the fittest. We always look towards getting things done with least amount of exertion and if others can help us in achieving what we want then why not take advantage of their offer for help? Being spiritual does not mean being a slave to others. When we decide to offer help, if that is what we have resolved - let us say, spend 2 hours of my sunday in helping people at temple, then what ever people ask in that two hours, do it and forget it. Do not judge them. It is a service that I have committed myself to, and that two hours do not belong to me. If a person asks me something which I cannot do it, then there is no problem in saying politely that - that particular request is beyond your capability or capacity and move on. I once posed the same question you had to a great devotee of BABA and he said, "the reason we feel hurt and get angry with people is because we have expectations - expect them to understand what they are understanding, expect them to think rationally, and expect them to reciprocate what we did. If a service is rendered with the object of getting back then better not to offer it". He also said that to move away from people who create negative thoughts in you and make you lose your cool. As the object cannot be removed, better to move away from the proximity of the object.

It is hard to practice, but yes - life is all about learning. One day you might achieve control over anger. Everytime you lose your cool think of BABA. I have the problem too, and I keep thinking of Him, it helps me to remain in control to some extent. People will abuse kindness, such people are to be pitied for they do not know to live life. No point in thinking of them or their behaviour. But at the same time it is a lesson to you to interospect and analyse your own behaviour and question yourself 'am I abusing and using people?'. Let us change ourself first and be not what we do not want others to be. In life if everybody were caring, compassionate, empathetic and considerate, then we would be saints and have no need to think of god and earth would be a paradise.

Baba bless us all and guide us. May He give us wisdom to distinguish between right and wrong and exhibit true human values.

Sairam Anithaji,

Iam very much impressed about your message and I appriciate the way you explained about the service and how to control our anger in this mail. I always admire your "Message for the week" column and love to read your messages, as you always convey your messages very beautifully. As you mentioned ,when ever we loose our temper we must constantly remember Baba. It is a very difficult task. There is nothing we cannot do. How do we constantly remember Baba? By practice . You can achieve anything by practice says our Baba. I fully agree with you we cannot change the whole world. Let us change ourself first. We should develop brotherly love towards one and all. We should know that same divinity exists in every body irrespective of caste, creed, colour and language. We will develop unity and chant Baba's name always.

May Baba bless you and be with you and your family always.

With my humble pranams at the lotus feet of our beloved Baba,

Rama.

Jai Sai Ram,

Dear Kaminiji,

In fact I was also of a perception that we must try to avoid such people...Also that I must not get very emotional and try to be practical when its most wanted...

It gets very tricky in real world..lolll...It was a bit easier when I was with my parents in India. But yes, I do agree that it all a learning process, at times really frustrating but I have to find a way...

It is good to know what my elders think about the solution for a same problem. I just don't want to commit sin and further karma and karma but handling people in wrong ways you know.

Baba is always the one whom I turn to for answers and honestly speaking I also get angry at him at times for making me deal with such people.loll...But then I apologise.

Thank you very much for replying and taking the time.

May Baba bless all,

Jai Sai Ram...

Saurabh have you ever thought why we get hurt by people it's because we are compassionate and emotional and all these things are our tests and trials in life it's our growth. If a situation is tricky we learn to work around it, and if possible we can try to avoid people who bring out the worst in us. These are just my thoughts I would love to hear from others too Saurabh I am much older than u and are still learning don't worry u will be much wiser by going through these test and trials all part of life and then Baba is our Guru who is always there to guide.

May BABA's grace be on one and all. I have few incidents to share with my sai family. It is all Baba's and how He listens to our prayers. In Message #14766 I had written about my experience and an answer I got from BABA for a question I posed. I got my answer and I want to share my experiences with you. We all go through a rollercoaster of emotions and events in our life. I have been specially blessed by BABA to learn lessons in life through practical experiences since my childhood. I have been taught lessons which some would take for granted. In a way I am grateful to BABA for surrounding me with people and events which drove me closer to HIM With every passing event in my life. My elder son broke his left arm while playing soccer at school on 21st June. He was taken to emergency from school. It was a gruesome experience for my husband and I when we saw

him in the emergency. Anyway we thought BABA spared him with only a break and did not move the bone and he did not require operation. After a week when went to see the specialist, doctor said that there was a benign cyst in the bone and hence it broke easily. If it does not heal in a months time he has to undergo a major operation. We were traumatised. My younger son broke his arm in September 2006 and it took him about 4 months to heal and then this. We were struck with one misfortune or the other. That is when I asked BABA if he could spare operation for my son and I got the message which was written on 6th of July. We had to go doc once every fortniight. In the last visit about a fortnight ago, doc said operation was not necessary and it was fortunate that shantan broke his arm at the point of cyst because it heals at younger age than taking it to adulthood when it would have caused more problems. BABA's

message through Satcharita came true to the word. Both my husband and I thanked BABA, HE did it for my sons benefit. Shantan's hand healed in 5 weeks time 3 weeks earlier than what doctor said. It is all because of HIS grace. Immidiately after that whole of August we were down with Flu all 4 of us. We had been through two rounds of antibiotics still no respite. My younger son developed middle ear infection and he was in severe pain for two weeks. Took to emergency couple of times but no respite. He was missing his school and swimming and other activities. Last Thursday, I was sitting in prayers in front of BABA, and cried seeking help for my children. I called my younger son, and made him sit in front of BABA. I took chandan and put udhi in it and told BABA "I need you to cure HIM, I have nobody to run to. Shanmuk is not my son, He is your child. If you cant see him in pain, then relieve

him of his pain." I applied chandan around the ear and gave him water with udhi. I give my children udhi water every morning, but the prayers that day were made with helplessness and putting all the burden on the master. Next day, my son woke up and was ready for school even before we were ready! It was amazing to see the change. Then very next day, my older son Shantan developed sty on the eye and he was in pain. I resorted to BABA, I have no strength to carry on life with so much stress in life. I gave up, and placed my situation in HIS hands. In 2 hours after application of udhi on Shantan's eyes, the sty burst open. The reason I share my experiences here with you is that we all go through bad times in our life at somestage or other. Nobody is spared in this life without undergoing the consequences of their karma. I have been fortunate to be blessed with love for BABA. Rather

He loves me, and pulled me to HIS feet. I intend to stay there till my last breath. When we have love and faith, HE gives us strength to go through the worse in life and emerge victorious. Whatever HE does is for our benefit. My strength was being truthful, honest, sincere and having love towards BABA, qualities that bring victory. As I type this message, my son put an old Video cassette which has Sri variki premaleka and old Telugu movie, instead it plays Shirdi Sai BABA - Telugu movie not what my husband wanted to watch. These little things inlife bring about presence of HIS grace in our life. Here is the message for the week which prompted me to write these experiences to you. Baba gave the following beautiful advice:- "Be wherever you like, do whatever you choose, remember this well that all whatyou do is known to Me. I am the Inner Ruler of all and seated in their hearts. I

envelope all the creatures, the movable and immovable world. I am the Controller - the wire-puller of the show of this Universe. I am the mother - origin of all beings - the Harmony of three Gunas, the propeller of all senses, the Creator, Preserver and Destroyer. Nothing will harm him, who turns his attention towards Me, but Maya will lash or whip him who forgets Me. All the insects, ants, the visible, movable and immovable world, is My Body or Form". BABA our lord, master and guide has been with us through 2008. Life

is a mixture of good and bad. Every year brings us new message and

meaning to our life. 2008 I am sure would have brought you all

messages, fulfilled your wishes might have been filled with

disappointments. Whatever it be, we have waded through 2008 (almost)

and are entering into the new year. This message would be the last

message for this year. Let us raise our hands in gratitude and

thank BABA our almighty for the experiences He has given us which

has pulled us closer to HIM.

and wondering how and what the new year would bring us. Remember,

BABA is with us we have taken shelter under HIS merciful grace and

He is sure to be with us and help us tide over whatever lies ahead

in our lives. He is just a call away. CAll out to HIM with love,

with longing with devotion and Grace, HE is with us in no time. He

never leaves our side or abandons us. Yes we sure feel His absence

when we go through tough times but lest we know that it is HE who is

bearing the pain and lessened it for us so we can carry on with life

and feel a prick instead of a stab. Here is the message for the

week. It is HIS promise to us, let us hold on to HIS words..

Dear Saibandhus,

WITH PRAYERS AT THE LOTUS FEET

OF LORD SAINATH OF SHIRDI TO BLESS ALL WITH A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009.

Sairam,

Wish you all a very happy Thursday. This Thursday is very significant, as you all know today is 1st of Jan 2009 and also happens to be Thursday, a day dearer to all Guru worshipers. Let us invoke BABA's blessings on this day for all of us. BABA bless us all on this New Years day to guide us and bless us with wisdom, happiness, peace and joy.

We have been following BABA's teachings and philosophy for many years. How do we measure if we have spiritually grown? With the dawn of New year, we all may have certain goals/Aims/Resolution. When we go about making a list of all the wishes/requests in front of BABA, let us sit and ponder.. what we are asking is it worth to put in front of Master? Does not HE know what we want. Is it not better to ask for HIS grace and blessings which will take care of everything for us in life. This is easier said than done. Only practice makes it easier for us to leave everything at the feet of BABA. When a thought arises in our mind and we desire it, let us firstly invoke BABA's blessing and ask Him " BABA , this is what I desire, but I am not sure if this is suitable for me or not, I leave it at your feet, you decide what is good for me, I will put my effort, if you think it is worthy to have then you take care of fulfilling my desire " . We have to practice putting our requests to HIM before putting our heart on every whim and fansy that passes our mind. Let us then put our effort in trying to achieve the goal. If We deserve what we ask then BABA will remove all the obstacles and help us achieve our wish. When we invoke BABA's grace, we will be saved from falling into pits of temptations and greed. BABA will take care of our life and He will decide what is good for us and what is not. Here is the first message for this new year from Satcharita. BABA has a lesson HERE for us....

"

Baba's Sircar Baba gave a story of his boyhood as follows:- " When I was a youngester, I was in search of bread and went to Beedgaum. There I got embroidery work. I worked hard, sparing no pains. The employer was very much pleased with Me. Three other boys worked before Me. The first got Rs. 50/- the second Rs. 100/- and the third Rs. 150/-. And I was given twice the whole of this amount, viz. Rs. 600/-. After seeing my cleverness, the employer loved me, praised me and honoured me with a full dress, a turban for the head and a shell a for the body, etc. I kept this dress intact withoutusing it. I thought that what a man might give does not last long and it is always imperfect. But what My Sircar (God) gives, lasts to the end of time. No other gift from any man can be compared to His. My Sircar says " Take, take, " but everybody comes to me and says 'Give, give.' Nobody attends

carefully to the meaning of what I say. My Sircar's treasury (spiritual wealth)

is full, it is overflowing. I say, " Dig out and take away this wealth in

cartloads, the blessed son of a true mother should fill himself with this

wealth. The skill of my Fakir, the Leela of my Bhagwan, the aptitude of my

Sircar is quite unique. What about Me? Body (earth) will mix with earth, breath

with air. This time won't come again. I go somewhere, sit somewhere; the hard

Maya troubles Me much, still I feel always anxiety for My men. He who does

anything (spiritual endeavour) will reap its fruit and he who remembers these

words of Mine will get invaluable happiness. " Chapter 32 SSS.

BABA bless us and guide us always.

Sairam,

Happy Baba's day to you all. Tomorrow is Sri Ram Navmi, a day very dear to Baba. Ram Navmi denotes the destruction of the evil and victory of the righteousness. For followers of Shirdi Sai, Sai Baba is Rama. He assumes the form of every god or godness when one reads Satcharita. Baba our Rama, promised us how He runs to those who ask for His blessings and protection. He saves us from Calamities, guides us in the right direction. Baba before His demise has prescribed to us remedies for every troubled situation. All we have to do is have immense faith in His promises and continue our endeavours and He will stand by us at all times and guides us through. Baba has never promised that His devotees will escape all the effects of their actions, but He promised that He would stand by them and give them strength to overcome the situations. Baba gave them timely warning and protected them. For this Sri Ram Navmi Baba gives us this assurance through Satcharita for Thursdays message...

"

Do you know our Dwarakamayi?" As Balasaheb did not

understand he kept quiet, Baba continued - "This is our Dwarakamayi, where you

are sitting. She wards off all dangers and anxieties of the children, who sit on

her lap. This Masjidmayi (its presiding Deity) is very merciful, she is the

mother of the simple devotees, whom she will save in calamities. Once a person

sits on her lap, all his troubles are over. He, who rests in her shade, gets

Bliss". Then Baba gave him Udi, and placed His protecting hand on his head. When

Balasaheb was about to depart, He again said- "Do you know the "Lamba Bava"

(long gentleman), Viz. serpent?" And then closing the left arm like fist He

brought it near the right elbow, and moving His left arm like the hood of a

serpent, He said- "He is so terrible, but what can he do to the children of

Dwarakamayi: When the Dwarakamayi (its presiding deity) protects, what can the

serpent do?" Satcharita Chapter 22.

Our hearts the resting place of Baba, and our homes which has enshrined HIS blessings denotes Dwarakamayi. When we have welcomed HIM into our hearts and homes HE has taken up on HIMSELF to protect us always. Let us all remember this well on the eve of Ram Navmi and have faith in HIM and continue in our lifes journy. He will guide us through and protect us.

BABA bless us and guide us always.
