Namaste Lisa, for those who truly have problems, whether due to

discomfort with physical movements or ailments, its fine to keep

bracelets and malas on. However if it is possible to do so,

sometimes if you can help it, try to take them off. If not, the Lord

knows and forgives. There will not be any harm done to the beads'

energies.

Just a matter of interest and it is true about certain Yogis, Sadhus,

Tantrikas and Aghoris : they do not take their malas nor any holy

sacraments off during toilet.

Again, whether a person decides to wear or take off, can depend on

their background, lineage, how they are brought up or whether they

come from strict family or Hindu beliefs. Smarta (Liberal) Hindus

would not worry too much about wearing beads to the toilet, for

example.
